Surviving the traffic from LAX airport and handling our jet lag with a good night’s sleep, we awoke in sunny Los Angeles with the meter promising us no less than 88 degrees Fahrenheit (31°C) to begin our day with.

Having enjoyed our breakfasts successfully, we drove downtown to marvel the banking district skyscrapers and the Walt Disney Concert Hall, along with simply strolling around the Grand Park and peculiar Little Tokyo area nearby. We continued our exploration by visiting the Beverly Hills district of the rich and famous, right before carrying on to the Walk of Fame itself.

We finished our day elevating ourselves above the hustle and bustle of the city by driving all the way up Mount Hollywood to visit the Griffith Observatory, where we had a nice view of the city of Los Angeles from a relatively smog free evening sky.

The city of dreams left us feeling slightly overwhelmed by its sheer size and complexity, but the locals melted our hearts with their warm and friendly attitude, truly welcoming us into Southern California.
