Fear Just Slows Us Down

Stumbling Forward to be a Better Person

There are days when I have a mini-freak out thinking “WHAT THE HELL AM I DOING?!” I went to college, had a steady job, and then one day I get up and walk away? For what? I type away on a laptop and anxiously wait for someone to “like” my blog post or social media page.

Some days I think I should just let my book do its thing and go back to my “normal” life with a secure job and paycheck.

I’ve had this little blurb written up for a couple of weeks now, unfinished, but I recently read a post from a blog I follow, After Midnight. It’s a great blog and always sparks new ideas for me to write about.

A quote from the post Be Not Afraid:

“God will not give you anything you can’t handle,” doesn’t mean you are supposed to go it alone. “I can do all things through Christ” means do the things He has given you, not what you think or what others think you are supposed to do. He also intends for you to handle it with Him, not alone. And, He has given you other people to help you — friends, family, medical people — He does not intend for you to go it alone!”

Why should we be afraid of anything?! We have the most powerful Being on our side, God. What could possibly harm us?!

No matter what happens, at the end of the day I still push forward. I remember God is taking care of me. When I really feel down I just look back at my first post. That’s why I’m doing this. I need to help people. The world needs to know my story.

Don’t let doubt and fear keep you from your dreams. Push through. What’s the worst that could happen? You fail? So what? God isn’t going to leave you stranded. You’ll bounce back, I promise.

The way I like to think of it, I don’t want to be 70 years-old and regret not following my dreams. I would like it a lot better saying “I failed trying to do the right thing” rather than “I didn't try at all.”
