Summer is in full swing, and that means chillin’ poolside and catching rays at the beach. Fourth of July is right around the corner, and there is no better time to show off your new perfect swimsuit. With these tips, you are sure to find the best bathing suit to flatter your body and look dazzling at the BBQ. So let’s dive in!

Small Chest

Those of us with large chests think that our petite counterparts have it best, but that doesn’t mean that small chested girls don’t struggle when finding the perfect suit. Padding and push up tops will emphasize your top. If you are self-conscious about your small chest ruffles, prints, bows, scallops, and frilly details will give the illusion that your chest is a little bigger.

Large Chest

Large chests definitely need support and finding bra-like support can be a challenge. Look for underwire or molded cups to provide support and lift. If you can find a swimsuit that comes in cup sizes like a regular bra then you are golden! Halter tops and adjustable straps will help contain any wardrobe malfunctions.

Athletic or Straight Figure

Athletic builds have a lot of options when it comes to swimwear because they don’t have to worry about balancing proportions. If you’re looking to create curves go for a monokini, this style will break up your straight lines. High leg bottoms are also your friend because they accentuate toned legs. Don’t be afraid to reach for bikinis with all the feminine frills, but try to avoid bandeaus because they create straight lines across the chest.

Pear Shape

You may be considered a pear shape if you have curvy hips and thighs with a smaller top. To draw attention away from your lower half, play up your chest with a plunging neckline or eye-catching top. Skirted bottoms help conceal the largest part of the thighs. Avoid boy short bottoms as this style tends to call attention to the lower half.

Curvy or Hourglass

A curvy figure doesn’t mean big. Curvy women come in all sizes and have a few things in common: balanced upper and lower halves with a defined waistline. Luckily this body shape can pull off almost any type of swimsuit. A balconette top paired with high waist bottoms will provide support and direct the eyes to your tiny waist. When looking for swimsuits think retro bombshells like Bettie Page and Marilyn Monroe.

Midsection Concealing
If you are concerned about flaunting your midsection, there are still plenty of swimsuit options that are both flattering and fabulous. The one piece is a classic, and in recent years the designs are cuter than ever. High waisted bottoms are fun because you can still wear whatever top you want and hide your tummy. Tankinis are a nice alternative to the one piece because they are a full-coverage two piece and easier to take off when you need to use the restroom.

Our bodies come in all shapes and sizes, and the perfect swimsuit is out there for all of us. Hopefully, these tips take you closer to finding the best one, or many, for your body! Summer is the time to feel fabulous, so grab your suit and get ready to soak up life!
