RMD, the style-god

While working on this particular blog post last night, my mind was wandering, thoughts trundling through my brain like Lagos traffic, trying to figure out who should have my first highlight.

Gbam!

Guess who I stumbled upon?

My man, my man! Richard Mofe Damijo — ‘RMD’, as he is popularly called in Nigeria. Yeah right. I know what you’re thinking; he’s not my man. *rolls eyes*

The veteran actor who hails from Itsekiri, Delta State has starred in over 60 movies and TV series locally and nonlocally. RMD is a writer, Lawyer, creative coach, public speaker and a lot more

In 2008, he was called to serve in government, in his home at Delta State, Nigeria. Firstly as a special Adviser to the governor and subsequently, as the Commissioner of Culture and a Tourism

RMD owns one of Nigeria’s foremost PR outfits, White Water LTD, which he actively runs alongside his production company. He studied Theatre Arts at the University of Benin and also has a Law degree from the University of Lagos.

He’s married to Jumobi Mofe — Damijo. He’s a Christain, a father, a grandfather and a style influencer.

Whether on or off the red carpet, he’s always in a spectacular style, exotic and aesthetic pleasing. His style can be casual or formal but whatever stylistic melange, he’s a dapper old gentleman.

Did I mention that he’s a grandfather? Oh my goodness, he is!

If a grandfather, can ‘slay’ well, what’s stopping you from dressing to the nines?

The truth is that you don’t have to be stunningly rich before you slay. Just make sure you dress well. Dressing well could be as simple as neat and well-ironed clothes.

“What you wear is how you present yourself to the world, especially today, when human contacts are so quick. Fashion is instant language.” — Miuccia Prada

Most people will judge your appearance before approach, before accepting that proposal or before approving that deal. So whether, you’re a student, a business owner, a volunteer, or an intern, always dress elegantly.

Don’t ever wear slippers to an official meeting, a pitch or a formal event. Remember what you wear is how you present yourself to the world. It is better to be overdressed than to be underdressed.

If people will stare, make it worth their while!

What’s stopping you from slaying?
