High heels and your body

High heels are something that many stylists are known to wear all day long no matter how much their feet hurt standing all day, because they look so good! It is important to stay educated about the ill effects that high heels can place on your body in order to take action to better your health.

Be aware that as the heel height on your high heels gets higher, there is in an increased pressure on the ball of your foot. With this increased amount of pressure on the forefoot, the lower part of your body leans forward and to keep balance in your body, the upper part of your body leans back.

High heels causes:

  • your chest to push forward
  • your lower back to push forward, taking hips and spine out of alignment
  • excess pressure on the knees
  • increased pressure on the balls of the feet through a downward force
