Boycott the LBD this NYE
#NYE is right around the corner and we bet you have already picked out(or planning to pick out) the most flattering LBD in the market. Hold on! With this power-packed year coming to a close, wouldn’t you want to spice things up a little?
Store Untold collaborated with Tartan Toast and Taxis and got a tad bit rebellious! We decided to boycott the LBDs completely for this NYE and have styled four antidotes to your classic LBD.
Since this was a collaboration, Store Untold has styled Chandni Doulatramani of Tartan Toast and Taxis , while Chandni has styled Srishti Nadhani of StoreUntold. Avoire- a Multi-Designer store based in Kolkata was kind enough to let us turn their store upside down and put together these unique looks for you!
Quirk-like-it’s-your-work-look

Chandni’s Look: Store Untold has exploited Chandni’s petite frame and used layering and print clashing to give her a perfect NYE look.

A vintage print shirt has been teamed with a pair of abstract print culottes. A detailed velvet jacket adds a royal touch to the look.

Fish braids, an earring in shades of blue, a metallic sling and uber comfortable neon converse were enough to keep the look rather exciting.

Srishti’s look: Chandni has played around with one of Srishti’s favourite most trends- Print Clash. She has teamed a chevron bomber jacket with a black and white midi skirt with 3D flower detailing and added some more charm with another detailed, ruffled green jacket.

A statement DIY earring, silver brogues, an oxidized bracelet and a green pouch were enough to bring out Srishti’s personality.

Natural curls were kept intact for a fuss-free look!

A hint of electric blue eyeliner on the waterline keeps things oh-so-interesting!

Glam-like-you-don’t-give-a-damn

Chandni’s look: Srishti’s mission was to cull Chandni’s inhibition about sporting a sequinned dress by practising hyper layering and an interplay of silhouettes.

A glitzy glam sequinned dress has been toned down by layering it with an ambiguous print, button down maxi, and an over-sized black hoodie cape with bead detailing. To keep things more interesting, the stiff collar has been upturned and sealed with a moustache brooch.

A top knot gives Chandni some height without having to wear heels.

The colour palette of gold, marsala and black expose an edgier side of Chandni. The black combat boots shall not only ensure comfort, but keep the drunk creeps at bay. ;)

Srishti’s look: Chandni had to return the favour of hyper layering by hyper layering too! A marsala maxi dress has been teamed with a sequinned top since Srishti feels slightly nude at parties without some bling; an asymmetrical cape in a riot of colours adds some more character to the look.

The detailed belt on the waist gives Srishti’s broad frame more shape.

Ox Blood Red Platforms keep you safe from the Stiletto stampede and also keeps the comfort quotient high!

The Great Gatsby inspired headgear and a geometric earring finish off the look. A short baroque handbag to keep the beauty essentials handy never hurt either!
