Paradise Lost Good Vs Evil

The book Paradise Lost demonstrates the perspective of Satan when he was rebellious towards God which caused his fall from Heaven.

Satan is described as jealous, bitter, hatred, and being furious, all of these terms are a prime example of evilness. Satan’s negative thoughts and behavior represents how evil he actually is. Satan was once an angel, but he was envious of God and attempted to take over power and control of Heaven. Because of this, Satan was pushed down into Hell. Prior to falling from Heaven, Satan believed that he was superior and wiser than God, but after he realized and accepted that God had more power than him, he tried to seek revenge and go against God again.

A major theme is good versus evil. Based on Satan’s behavior and evil acts, we can tell that Satan represents evil. Because there is no evil without good, we can infer that God represents good. God has always been praised and recognized as “the creator”. In today’s society, the theme good vs evil is used in many books/movies/tv shows. For example, the book Beowulf, Beowulf is portrayed as the good due to him being a heroic warrior for risking his own life to fight an evil monster, Grendel.

Another example is Cinderella. Her stepmother and stepsisters treated her with disrespect and always made her clean, this shows that they represent evil. Later on, Cinderella met a prince and that is how she escaped her misery and found happiness.

In summary, evil and good cannot exist without one another. Evil will always fail, while good will always prevail. Be good and make a difference.
