KENYA

A resilient Nation.

--

Lailah Gifty Akita once said, “To live for your dreams, you have to be fearless in life.”

Truly, a message of hope followed to the latter by my countrymen and women who have decided to remain unbowed amidst adversity.

What an unshaken nation that cannot be bowed or cowed through terrorism! With the Dusit D2 Hotel on 14 Riverside drive attack happening a little over a fortnight ago killing 21 people followed closely by a blast from an improvised explosive device (IED) at Latema road injuring two people, brave Kenyans have decided to remain united and stand together in dealing with the distress and trauma caused. What a resilient nation! I have never been more proud of my country people! Kenyans!

A great man also added “The opportunity to secure ourselves against defeat lies in our own hands,” and for sure, as a country, we have defeated cowardice of all levels.

Walking along Latema road today and business goes on as usual. Shops opened and small traders and vendors hawking their products as if there was no explosion some few days ago. For the enemies who thought they’ll instill fear among Kenyans, they are just watching on Viusasa as irrepressible people remain resolute to build and rebuild their own country.

One great enemy we must all endeavor to fear not conquering is fear. Fear can cripple purpose and purposeful life. Fear asks question we must fear. Fear makes vision a nightmare. One must always cross the barrier of fear to get to the great city of true purposefulness. A great number of us who are unable to live to accomplish the true reason for our existence on earth are unable to cross the barrier of fear in the first place.”
Ernest Agyemang Yeboah

However, this time round, we ought to be more vigilant and careful of our surroundings since the enemy lies within us hidden in sheep clothing.

The National Police Service (NPS) insists on the critical need of all citizens to remain alert regarding their surroundings and provide information immediately to the Police in case of anything out of the ordinary is observed.

Let’s be each others keepers!
