Snoop Dogg’s Bored Ape has been busy! Dr. Bombay now has seven flavors of ice cream available in 3,500 Walmart stores. The line features flavor names like Bonus Track Brownie, Rollin’ In the Dough, and S’more Vibes.

Google’s AI-powered Search Generative Experience is getting a big new feature: images and video. If you’ve enabled the AI-based SGE feature in Search Labs, you’ll now start to see more multimedia in the colorful summary box at the top of your search results. According to the Verge, Google is no longer simply trying to find good links for you every time you search — it’s trying to synthesize and generate relevant, true, helpful information.

Binance announced that its yearly “Blockchain Week” will be taking place in Istanbul, Turkey this time around. Attendees are expected to come from all over the world, and those who cannot will be able to watch on Binance Live.

Twitter Blue (which Elon Musk is currently rebranding to X Blue) now includes the option to hide the notorious blue checkmark. Twitter Blue subscribers recently started noticing the “hide your blue checkmark” option on the web and in mobile apps.

According to CNBC, tech companies shed more than 386,000 jobs last year. In the first half of this year, that number is climbing. While layoffs have taxed workers, a booming artificial intelligence market is giving the industry a renewed sense of optimism.

Snoop Dogg brings his NFT into real life with new ice cream line available in select Walmart stores

USA Today — Rapper and entrepreneur Snoop Dogg is teaming up with Happi Co., a consumer packaged goods company, to launch a new line of ice cream called Dr. Bombay.

Dr. Bombay Ice Cream will be available in 3,500 Walmart stores starting July 24, and sold for $4.98, according to a press release.

The new brand takes its name from Snoop Dogg’s NFT character and will start by offering seven flavors: Bonus Track Brownie, Cocoa Cream Cookie Dream, Iced Out Orange Cream, Rollin’ In the Dough, S’more Vibes, Syrupy Waffle Sundaze, and the vibrant Tropical Sherbet Swizzle…[cont]

X’s Subscription Service, Formerly Twitter Blue, Now Lets You Hide Your Blue Check Mark

Variety — Have you paid Elon Musk for an $8-per-month subscription to Twitter Blue (now called X Blue, under Musk’s rebranding effort) but are embarrassed to advertise the fact?

X now lets subscribers to the premium X Blue service hide the blue check mark on their account. Musk has promoted the perk as democratizing Twitter’s most recognizable status symbol. He tweeted last fall that “There shouldn’t be a different standard for celebrities” when it comes to verified status, and Musk complained that Twitter’s previous process of doling out blue check marks was “corrupt” and “nonsensical.” [cont]

How layoffs and A.I. are impacting tech workers

CNBC — Tech companies shed more than 386,000 jobs last year and in the first half of this year, according to Layoffs.fyi. That number is climbing.

But while layoffs have taxed workers, a booming artificial intelligence market is giving the industry a renewed sense of optimism.

“I have been in San Francisco for almost 12 years now and I have never felt this kind of energy,” said Flo Crivello, CEO of AI startup Lindy. “And I was here for the mobile boom.”
