Summary

October has been a transformative month for Autonomys, marked by significant milestones that bring us closer to our vision of a decentralized, AI-powered future. We successfully launched the Taurus Testnet on October 23rd, surpassing our 1.5 TiB Space Race target within hours — a testament to the robustness of our network and the dedication of our community. Our Mainnet Phase-1 is on track for a November 6th launch, enabling farmers to bootstrap storage, produce blocks, and secure Autonomys’ consensus chain.

Product development continues across the Auto Suite, including the Astral Block Explorer with enhanced features, the upcoming Auto Drive proof of concept targeting mid-November, and ongoing advancements with the Auto SDK. We are forging strong partnerships, engaging with over 80 potential collaborators, and have established new strategic alliances with Swan Chain, Masa, and Compute Labs. Our marketing efforts have expanded with the launch of Website V1.0, multiple PR campaigns, and a significant upcoming presence at Devcon 7. Our comprehensive whitepaper is now complete and will be released alongside our Mainnet Phase-1 launch, offering detailed insights into our technology and vision.

As we advance towards these pivotal milestones, we are both confident and excited about the path ahead. Thank you for your continued support and commitment. Together, we are shaping the future of AI and decentralization.

1.0 Protocol Updates

The Protocol team is actively testing mainnet release candidates, ensuring that all launch stages: history seeding, plotting, farming, the Space Race and block production function smoothly.

Key updates:

  • We successfully launched our live Taurus testnet during Office Hours on Wednesday, 10/23, marking the Proof-of-Time ceremony with a chosen Bitcoin block. The network was launched without a hitch, remained stable, and the Space Race storage target of 1.5 TiB was exceeded within a few hours.
  • We are preparing all infrastructure for Phase-1 launch: bootstrapping nodes, setting up timekeepers and RPCs, and finalizing the Astral block explorer.
  • Progress on our scalable sharding architecture design, with a focus on supporting future AI use cases and increased data throughput.
  • Archiving notifications for efficient data retrieval from the DSN are now merged and will significantly improve the developer experience on mainnet.

2.0 Product Updates

As we continue to build and enhance our product suite, we’ve made notable progress across multiple initiatives.

Key highlights:

  • Astral: We have successfully finalized reward visibility features in Astral, the block explorer, and are now preparing it for mainnet launch.
  • Auto Drive: Auto Drive offers a user-friendly interface for uploading, downloading, and organizing files via our DSN, as well as an SDK and API for developers to integrate storage capabilities into their applications.
  • Auto SDK: Work continues on core functionality, adding advanced support for storage upload and download to the Autonomys Network.
  • Developer Support: A renewed emphasis has been placed on comprehensive developer resources, including enhanced documentation and toolkits to facilitate broader platform adoption and ecosystem growth.

3.0 Marketing Updates

During October we focused on launching several key products, which has set the stage for an increased and enhanced social presence, highlighting the core competencies of branding, key messaging, partnership onboarding, and PR.

  • Autonomys.xyz Website V1.0: With the launch of our newly designed website, we have seen sustained traction in several key metrics: Monthly Visitors, New Visitors and Average Session Duration. We will continue to improve the website as well as enable further visibility around tracking to ensure proper website health performance over time.
  • Social Media: We have seen a dramatic uptick in most key measurable metrics across all socials since September 1st. This momentum continued to increase in October owing to several factors: a strategic content calendar with a focus on key announcements, PR, and various media appearances.

4.0 Partnership Updates

October has been a transformative month for Autonomys’ ecosystem expansion, marked by significant strategic partnerships.

Our key strategic partnerships this month include:

  • Swan Chain: Integration focused on seamless, affordable deAI development, providing permanent distributed storage and decentralized AI compute marketplaces.
  • Masa: Partnership enabling AI builders to access high-quality, real-time, multimodal training data streams for next-gen agents.
  • Compute Labs: Collaboration bringing advanced GPU compute resources and financial innovation to the AI3.0 ecosystem.

Community & industry engagement highlights:

These strategic alignments reflect our commitment to building a comprehensive AI3.0 ecosystem that combines decentralized infrastructure, high-quality data access, and compute resources. Each partnership has been carefully selected to strengthen specific aspects of our network’s capabilities and expand our reach in the web3 and AI domains.

5.0 Community Updates

October has been focused on building momentum and community engagement as we approach the Mainnet Phase-1 launch.

Key activities this month include:

Hosted community rehearsal Nano and Micro Space Races between our Mini Space Race earlier this year and the upcoming Mainnet Phase-1 launch and Space Race.

Completed processing of Genesis seed data from the contest, which has been transferred to the Engineering team ready for uploading at Mainnet Phase-1 launch.

Continued supporting community through:

  • Managing and auditing community rewards to ensure transparency and trust.
  • Providing ongoing refinement of farmer and developer documentation, including increasing translation coverage and languages supported.
  • Sharing updates on the Mainnet Phase-1 roadmap.

Launched the Big Bang campaign featuring multiple community initiatives:

The community team continues to focus on maintaining strong community engagement during this crucial transition period between the testnet era and Mainnet Phase-1 launch. These initiatives alongside regular Farmer Office Hours and Developer Office Hours calls are designed to keep the community active and involved while setting the foundation for the next phase of network development.

6.0 Operational Updates

Our team continues to grow and evolve as we prepare for Mainnet Phase-1.

Key highlights include:

New Team Members:

  • Saeid Yazdinejad has completed his studies and transitioned from Research Assistant to a full-time role within the Research Team, working under Dariia and Chen.

Global Team Presence:

  • 8 members of the team will be representing Autonomys at Devcon 7 in Bangkok, Thailand. We would love to see you at our side events if you’re attending!

Open Positions:

Our commitment to building a strong, diverse team continues as we scale our operations and move toward our mainnet Phase-1 milestone and beyond.

7.0 What’s Next?

We’re excited to reiterate our Mainnet Launch Strategy:

  1. Mainnet Phase-1 (November 2024): Core consensus chain launch, enabling farmers to bootstrap storage, produce blocks, and secure Autonomys’ base layer.
  2. Mainnet Phase-2 (early Q1 2025): Domain layer and Nova EVM launch, implementing innovative decoupled execution environments, and building out the AI3.0 ecosystem with AI-powered dApps.
  3. Mainnet Phase-3 (2025-onwards): Scalability roadmap implementation.

The Autonomys Network AI3.0 stack, Auto Suite, and our philosophy of radical autonomy have been thoroughly documented in our newly completed whitepaper. This comprehensive document, building on our previous technical papers, represents a significant milestone in our development journey. While the whitepaper is now complete, we’ve strategically aligned its public release with our upcoming Mainnet Phase-1 launch to maximize its impact. It offers an in-depth look at the evolution of our protocol and its decentralized, permissionless approach to shaping the future of AI.
