The Subsquid team is thrilled to announce its official partnership with Reef, the reliable, extensible, efficient, and fast EVM chain for DeFi, NFTs, and gaming. Subsquid and squid SDK already fully support indexing in the Reef ecosystem.

Both the main and test networks of Reef have already been indexed and stored by Subsquid Archives, and the open-source squid SDK has been made freely available to builders. For even simpler usability, the Reef core team has used the SDK to build a public GraphQL endpoint that developers can access — at zero cost — to test and integrate dApps.

Subsquid is the team behind squid SDK, an open-source framework that enables Web3 builders to create scalable and performant custom indexers which extract, transform, and present blockchain data as GraphQL APIs or in virtually any other format. Squids can be hosted for free using Subsquid’s hosted service, the Aquarium, and receive pre-indexed data from what will soon be a decentralized network of Archives.

Reef is a modular layer-1 blockchain for DeFi, NFTs and gaming. Designed to make Web3 accessible for the next billion users, Reef is a fast, scalable, and EVM-compatible network that features low transaction costs and seamless (forkless) upgradeability. In the future, the Reef team intends to add support for additional virtual machines, making the platform an ideal hub for interoperable dApps.

Get started with squid SDK on Reef

To familiarize yourself with building custom indexers using Squid SDK,

Next steps

In 2023, the Reef team intends to launch a dApp store. This user-friendly interface will use Subsquid to display metrics about newly deployed dApps in the ecosystem. Additionally, Subsquid is already being implemented in the Reef NFT marketplace, enabling users to rapidly sort through on-chain information regarding digital collectibles in the ecosystem.

We at Subsquid are looking forward to supporting Reef’s core developers as they work to complete these integrations. We will keep the community updated on these developments on Twitter and across our other official social media channels.
