Oh grilled cheese, you get five stars.

April 12 is the day where everyone can celebrate the blessing that is a grilled cheese sandwich. For every college student who has no idea how to cook , the grilled cheese always came to the rescue. But rather than make some average
grilled cheese, put the Kraft singles down, turn off that microwave, toss that Campbell's tomato soup in the trash and treat yourself to something a little fancy.

1. The Melt

With numerous locations around California, The Melt is probably one of the more accessible locations on this list. This spot will hit the spot if you’ve got a grilled cheese craving with a huge menu of different kinds of grilled cheese sandwiches and melts. If you want a suggestion, go ahead and try the Mac Daddy which is probably one of The Melt’s most popular sandwiches. Oozing with mac n cheese and delicious bacon, be sure to wear some stretchy pants when you go visit.

Where it is: You can either hit up their Rancho Cucamonga location at 7870 Monet Ave. #1050 or their LA location at 735 S. Figueroa St., Space 116.

2. Artisan Cheese and Wine

Who said grilled cheese can’t be fancy? Plus if you are looking to have a date night today, this is the place to go. Not only does Artisan gives a nice ambiance , but the food is worth the trip even with the limited wine options. So come on down and suit yourself up with a nice glass or wine or beer and a grilled cheese sandwich.

Where it is: 12023 Ventura Blvd, Studio City, CA 91604

3. Doomie’s Home Cookin

There seems to be this idea that vegan food can’t be healthy and well, that’s a load of spoiled cheese. Doomie’s breaks that stereotype with some of the most delicious, greasy junk food that’s all vegan. While their burgers and chicken sandwiches are delicious, the grilled cheese is a mouth-watering experience especially when paired with a side of crispy fries. This restaurant is the perfect treat for all the vegans out there on this holiday.

Where it is: 1253 Vine St # 9, Los Angeles, CA 90038

4. Grilled Cheese Truck

To find a delicious grilled cheese, you may have to travel. But lucky for you the Grilled Cheese Truck is always on the move. People are always flocking towards this truck wherever it’s at because of how good it is, and you probably can expect a line of people waiting for their famous grilled cheese sandwiches. So as a fair tip, if you plan to grab a sandwich from them you better get there early. But either way, it’ll be worth the wait.

Where it is: Check out their schedule to see where their trucks are at.

5. Melt It!

While Melt It! may not be the best restaurant on this list, they still have some of the tastiest grilled cheese sandwiches that you will let your taste buds taste. Another bonus, is that they have a great Groupon deal for first time customers so it’s a bang for your buck that will make you and your wallet feel satisfied.

Where it is: 105 N Hill Ave #103, Pasadena, CA 91106

6. Organix

Right next to a Tommy Burger, this is another vegan stop that’ll brings some incredible flavors to your mouth. Not only is the food freshly made, but while you’re waiting for your meal to be prepared you can check out the deli and small grocery store inside that’s filled with a ton of little (but admittedly pricey) treasures.

Where it is: 1731 Colorado Blvd, Eagle Rock, CA 90041

Craving a grilled cheese now? Well go out and have one! Happy grilled cheese day!
