tiny star

Here is space I know not well
sitting between heaven and hell,
mountaintop with infinite view,
heart wide open, soul renewed
Burden lifted, no longer mine to bear
I’ve given up where I once cared
I swear when you get here you’ll see what I mean
Every scene is a screen in a monstrous dream
The veil lifts and floats away
over my shoulder at the break of day,
starlit ring round my head,
dead float over a darkened sea
under rising sun, earth and heaven one
Angel and demon both,
hands wrapped ‘round my throat,
yell and scream, test my skill,
yet beyond that test lies infinite will,
children now as we once were
riding a planet next to a tiny star
