Rickie Fowler has withdrawn from the second-leg of the FedEx Cup playoffs — Dell Technologies Championship played at TPC Boston — with the oblique strain he suffered a week before the PGA Championship.

Fowler withdrew from the Northern Trust this past week when he took to Instagram, letting his followers know why he wasn’t playing. Fowler won the 2015 Dell Technologies Championship — which is one of his four career PGA Tour wins.

Luckily, Fowler is 22nd in the FedEx Cup points race and will have a spot in the following week’s BMW Championship if he is healthy and able to compete. But he will need to compete in the BMW, and finish towards the top of the leaderboard, if he wants a shot to compete in the Tour Championship the following week.

It’s also worth noting that Fowler is likely thinking of keeping himself healthy for the Ryder Cup later on this fall. Fowler was one of the eight Americans who qualified to make Jim Furyk’s USA squad. The captain will be picking his final four players in the coming weeks, that will round out the U.S. team.
