We all are aware of the evolution of social media platforms have brought in these years. Every single person in the world is now having an account on either Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, etc. The trends of the company for judging the personality of an employee via an interview is now changed to viewing their social media accounts and verifying their activities.

The companies before hiring a person take a look at the account of the person, whether he is free of any criminal activities, his contribution towards society, his area of interests, etc. This helps them know a person clearly and also match with what’s being said in the interview. Having a good profile increases the chances of being placed by any company, it plays the role of goodwill or recommendation given by a known person. If the company finds your profile not relevant or inadequate they won’t hesitate to cancel your recruitment and if they find it nill then you may lose a chance of getting hired, as it indicates that you are not up to the mark of upcoming technologies.

Before moving onto the real topic of the article i.e, the impact of social media accounts on job seekers, and its contribution to getting employed, let’s have a look at what exactly is social media recruitment system and why the companies have decided to change the trend and invest on it for recruitment.

The well-known platform that companies keep their eyes on nowadays is Linkedin. Most of the recruiters before hiring a person do have a look at their Linkedin profile. They very often use social media platforms to recruit employees. Now you might be wondering, what is social media recruitment? Social Media Recruitment is the means to recruit or hire employees from social media platforms, analyzing all their skills, achievements, accomplishments, profile, interests, etc.

Social media recruitment is far different from other recruitment processes because this allows the recruiters to communicate directly with both active and passive candidates. Social media recruitment also enables them to look for the employees of the required filed and interests that are not possible in any other kind of recruitment system. In a way, the social media account of a candidate tells all the possibilities and tasks that the candidate can fulfill, without much effort.

From the above analysis and data, it might be very clear now that how social media affects job seekers and contributes towards their employment. Since 94% of the recruitment is done via social media, it has become a necessary ingredient in the life of every job seeker to have an impactful presence on it.

Though a cherry on top of a cake does not solely contribute to the taste of it, it’s the contribution of all other ingredients as well that makes it yummier! There needs to be a consistency of all the ingredients maintained to have a fruitful result at the end. Therefore, it’s very necessary to build up your skills along with having a good strategy and appearance on the social media platforms.
