I No Longer Need People to Tell me Who I Am

Every self-doubted
Forsaken
Part of my being
Has been put together

All the tiny, scattered pieces
I desperately tried to assemble
With that people-pleasing glue
Now belong to myself.

I no longer need people to tell me about my worth.

In my wholeness
I navigate all the waters
I once drowned in

Now they shower my soul
In resplendence
Dressing my true self
In ever-shining
Golden light.
