  1. SudoSpeak: Do you, generally, like to learn English? What do you think your English level would be if you didn’t need to use English in your business life? Do you enjoy learning English, or, is there any other foreign language that comes to your mind first when it’s about learning languages? What are the factors that make English the most important language in the world, to you?
Ayse: Learning a language really means a lot. It makes it possible to develop relationship with people from different cultures and gives a huge boost to self-confidence. I think I would continue with my current English knowledge. I want to learn English in order to be more effective in business life, work globally, and to be able to read English sources. The 70% of my will is all about this while the other 30% is about socializing with people globally. I’ve always liked the way the words sound in English and I always watch movies in English. Apart from that, there are those famous comment as to why the English language is a global language and I agree with them.
  2. SudoSpeak: When do you need English most, in your business life? What did you do to fulfill this need before SudoSpeak?
Ayse: My company works globally and we have relations with our clients and global vendors. My lack of English knowledge caused me to keep in the background and I couldn’t play an active role. I needed to go everywhere with a friend of mine who was good at English which means you always need someone like a little child does. I was able to make use of some simple sentences but I was no where near effective. I tried to benefit from some translation websites and dictionaries for some correspondences and I made sure that my friend checked everything out before I sent my messages to clients. Basically, I always needed someone who is good at English. I’m really happy that I will overcome all these things.
  3. SudoSpeak: Are there any striking, important points about studying with SudoSpeak in terms of methods and styles? Is there anything that you find unique, very important, striking?
Ayse: My language trainer is very enthusiastic, positive and patient. I think that SudoSpeak care about picking the right trainers all the time. It was interesting to me that there are just voice calls instead of video calls and I thought it was right when I got to see why. I tried to concentrate better and better on what the trainer said, with the voice calls, and after 5 classes I realized that I got better in understanding the trainer and my concentration increased. I think this is really a good idea. I had always thought that video call could be better. A lot of people like me might believe so.
The texts in the classes so good. Every day, there’s a new main text through which I need to learn about new vocabulary and I always concentrate on that. There are text-related questions afterwards and I improve myself with them. While the first texts are relatively easier, it becomes more difficult gradually and this leads me to think that the better I get, the better my English level is. Prior to starting the course, I thought that the words, conjunctions, adverbs and etc. were very difficult for me, in a text, and I was afraid I couldn’t understand anything. However, thanks to a right program by SudoSpeak, my motivation has increased day by the since my first time there. Everything seems to be created and prepared for me. This makes me feel like a special student. I had tried a platform before and it did not include such things, to be honest. I used to pick a language trainer and all he said was ‘What would you like to talk about today?’. 20 minutes of time was wasted. SudoSpeak is well-disciplined.

The user interface is quite easy. There are no pictures and colors. I love the way the black color looks on the panel and there’s nothing to cause a loss of concentration. I believe that a lot of colors, pictures and contents really do cause a loss of concentration. SudoSpeak is really cool, in that sense.
  4. SudoSpeak: “The biggest benefit of SudoSpeak is….” How can you complete this sentence?
Ayse:I haven’t been fond of online speaking platforms, to tell you the truth. I’ve always had the idea that you sign in to a platform and then choose a language trainer and then you deal with all the stuff by yourself. Actually, I tried a platform like that before. In very deed, you just need to feel special. You need to see that the trainer does something for you and that the platform embraces you and follows you. This is exactly how I feel with SudoSpeak. I had some doubts in the beginning, to be fair, but the fact that Mr. Yazici did his best to help me and inform me, and that my trainer was really enthusiastic, made me feel that I am part of the SudoSpeak family. I have tendency to be lazy. Especially when it comes to English, I’ve got the feeling that I have the syndrome of learned helplessness. However, I believe that I’ve overcome all these things with the help of my trainer and the team SudoSpeak after 6–7 classes. My trainer is really a wise person and he follows the right strategies, to me. He prompts me to study hard and makes it possible for me to feel responsible for studying English. I am used to using English to English dictionaries now and I’ve realized how useful it is, thanks to my trainer.
  5. SudoSpeak: What kind of recommendations about learning English can you give to the people who have the same career objectives with you?
Ayse: To be honest, I am at the turning point of my life with SudoSpeak. You should really join the SudoSpeak family. For many years, I was not able to benefit from business meetings, summits, panels and etc. due to my lack of English. I couldn’t take part in my company’s global projects which always made me feel bad. I couldn’t even apply for some positions just because I wasn’t good at English even though I thought I was good at many other things. I’ve started to feel confident after starting a course at SudoSpeak. I think I can see what’s on the horizon for me now and I can develop business with foreign clients. I believe that software developers should improve themselves in the English language competencies so that they can play key roles and get involved in global business opportunities. Otherwise, they will always take a back seat.
