Sofitto on Future of Blockchain in London
This past week, two of three Sugi’s Sofitto co-founders, Alexander Vasylchenko and Nikita Schmidt, attended the Future of Blockchain event in London, UK.
The fact that London has become a proper blockchain hub has proved itself true this time again. The Northern Bank of the River Thames hosted a number of well-established blockchain experts, as well as young enthusiasts discovering and building its tomorrow.
Last week’s intro to the Future of Blockchain was a prelude to a 3-month competition hosted at the universities of Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial, LSE, UCL, and KCL. The participants of this winter-long university hackathon will be building various projects based on blockchain tech.
Industry masters such as Ziliqa, MakerDao, Gnosis, Liquidity Network, and others have proposed 8 challenges for developers to choose from. Students are also free to work on their next-big-thing idea, as long as it has blockchain running in its back-end.
Apart from supporting the blockchain youth, the event also served as a platform for the community to meet, share experiences, and discuss their work.
Sofitto’s CEO Alexander Vasylchenko found the London blockchain sphere extremely inspiring:
“It was a very enriching event with no shitcoin companies presenting. It was also a good opportunity to meet forward-thinking blockchain investors.”
The launch of the Future of Blockchain Challenge ended on Friday, November 23, and its main part will begin on December 3 at the University of Cambridge.
