Sofitto’s Sugi at Worldline e-Payments Challenge Hackathon
It’s an important date for Sugi NFC Wallet Card, as it goes on stage in Paris, to be presented by the Sofitto team at the Wordline e-Payments Challenge Hackathon.
Worldline, the French leader in e-payments transactional services across Europe, is hosting this three-day event in Paris, one of the financial and fintech centers of Europe, starting today and closing on Friday, September 28.
The Future of Payments
The objective of the event is to bring the biggest players of the payment service industry together with the ambassadors and pioneers of new technologies, including blockchain.
The current e-payments sphere is facing and adapting to a number of changes and improvements of the market as a whole — from Revised Payment Service Directive (PSD2), data value and GDPR, to cyber-security and hyper-connectivity.
It is now in the hands of the payment service providers and fintech specialists to see these advancements as a challenge and turn them into their advantage. This is also the mission of the Paris event — to create and present fresh, user-friendly and high-end technology solutions for the ever-evolving electronic payment industry.
Hackathon
The hackathon will encompass seven sections or challenges, targeted at community payments (enabling people to share their bills in a smart way), digitization of current private cards (aimed at reducing risk while saving), creating easier on-line B2B payments, and others.
For Sugi Card, the most exciting challenge is undoubtedly the one targeted at creating a more comfortable shopping experience in retail stores, to improve the customer experience while integrating new payment technologies. Due to the NFC communication protocols that run the Sugi Wallet Card, we believe it provides the right solution for implementing cryptocurrencies into everyday payment situations.
How will we pay in five years?
One thing is certain — we cannot escape digitization anymore. Even though people are still quite used to handling with cash on a daily basis, there will be an increasing demand for and supply of electronic and digital payment mechanisms applied in every scope of our daily activities.
New, groundbreaking products, platforms, technology improvements, and solutions for end-users will provide progressively diverse options to the e-payments ecosystem.
The Sofitto’s Sugi NFC Wallet Card is paving the way towards a seamless inclusion of crypto transactions in daily payment situations, allowing for an even higher autonomy of both crypto asset holders as well as ordinary users looking for ways to save on transaction fees.
