The Truth About Starvation

Is the water for the people, or for the money?

In the picture above, there’s one quote that really summarizes a main aspect of the problem. “Water for people, not for profit.” Think about that.

Now, add to that the fact that, the Pepsi you drink, is made with African water. The U.S actively exploits Africa and steals their products for its own gain. We are also cutting our foreign aid — the White House has reportedly called for a 24-percent cut in U.S foreign assistance.

Why has this happened? One reason is climate.

Mother Nature is heartless.

According to a State of Food Insecurity and Nutrition in the World report by the UN, the number of extreme climate-related disasters — droughts, floods, storms, severe heat — has doubled since 1990.

These many disasters destroy crops, which is tragic for the people that survive fully off the land. Many pastoralists and subsistence farmers are affected, and these are the people that make up up to 80 percent of the Horn of Africa.

This new climate change has also tragically coincided with the aforementioned US’s proposal to slash funding for lifesaving food aid.

Starvation as a weapon of war.
