When my friends Ornit Dweck-Maizel, Tamir Hazan, Tal Riesenfeld and I founded Sunbit, we vowed to make good on a simple promise: to help people get the most out of their hard-earned money. And today, Sunbit announced a $130 million fundraising round, putting us in the good company of unicorns before us.

Five years later, it is with immense gratitude that I reflect on the ways that Sunbit has been incorporated into everyday life. From being found in 1 in every 4 auto dealerships in the United States, to helping people buy now, pay later for glasses, dental treatments and veterinary care, Sunbit’s technology has helped retailers and service providers across America’s communities get what they need.

This is the result of years of dedication from our nearly 200 employees and their families, the boundless enthusiasm of our merchant partners dedicated to delivering an unparalleled customer experience, and the trust placed in us by the hundreds of thousands of customers who gave Sunbit a try. The buy now, pay later category is transforming the way Americans pay — and we’re committed to building the technology to ensure that it’s an option for everyone, from all walks of life, to pay for everyday needs and services.

Today’s announcement is an important milestone, but there is much more in store for Sunbit. As our technology continues to help take the stress out of the buying and selling process, we’ll double down on our investment in customer experience. We’ll grow the geographical and vertical footprints to ensure that Sunbit technology can be found wherever people need it. We will keep innovating and evolving our offerings with the goal for everyone to have access to the financial choices they deserve.

I’m so proud of our team, our partners and our customers, and all the hard work that went into proving out the Sunbit concept. Thank you all. We couldn’t have done it without you.
