Dear SunLovers,

Last week we made an announcement regarding our new invoicing system which we have since rolled out. We’d like to thank all the parties that made it possible for us to give the SunContract invoice a face lift. From our local partner SONCE, to the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) which partly financed the rolling out of this new invoice, we are eternally grateful.

What will the new electricity bill look like?

The purpose of this article is to get our energy customers and community members more acquainted with this invoice, how it differs from the previous invoicing system and to loop you in on the upcoming changes that come with this new system. But first, here’s a quick glance of the new energy bill:

Second page:

Third page:

Now that that’s out of the way, we’ll briefly touch on the differentiating factors of the new invoice, from the previous one:

Improved billing overview

At SunContract, our customers’ energy invoices tend to vary depending on their plan, number of users, active discounts or promotions and taxing regulations. Our goal with this revamped invoice was to make the information contained in each customer invoice much more clear and transparent.

In the new invoice, the necessary details for the payment of your energy bill are now clearly indicated at the very beginning of the invoice. And in addition to the amount to be paid, there is also a payment deadline and a QR code which you can use to easily settle your bill via the bank.

New marketplace savings feature

To reach your financial goals, you can’t see saving money as an afterthought. Understanding this, we redesigned the new invoice, giving priority to your savings information. Each month, your energy bill will very clearly show you how much money you were able to save due to using the SunContract energy marketplace, as opposed to if you opted for a single tariff contract price by an alternative energy provider.

Currency preference information

On the SunContract platform, customers can settle their payments in either Euros or with SNC tokens. For new customers, the Euro is automatically the preferred payment currency. For existing customers, you can now check your priority payment currency on the second page of the invoice, or in your platform settings.

You can also change your priority currency on the platform at any time. In your SunContract Platform account, under the “Electricity” tab, select the “Contracts” tab. By clicking on an individual contract, you can edit the details and also select the preferred payment currency. If you have more than one customer point, you must change the preferred currency for each contract separately.

Overview of consumption by metering points

For each metering point, the table “Actual consumption calculation” shows the value that you would pay at the contract price and the savings that you incur due to buying your energy on the SunContract marketplace, instead of opting for that contract price.

Overview of concluded agreements on the platform

In the table “Agreements made on the SunContract Platform” you can monitor the completed marketplace pricing trades in comparison with the contract price and the amount of kWh according to the different types of agreements on the platform.

A new way to share news

The new SunContract energy invoice will also serve as a notification channel, where we will share with you news regarding the operation of the SunContract platform.

As an example, in our most recent bill, we recently sharing the news that as of November 1, your electricity bill will also include the amount owed due to network fees. This will enable customers to pay for electricity and network usage costs through a joint invoice.

Prior to this change, customers received two energy-related bills: one covering electricity costs, and the other covering network distribution costs. For the electricity invoice, customers could make their payment using either SNC tokens or EUR but for the newtwork distribution costs, customers could only make their payment in EUR.

Starting November 1st, the two invoices will be merged and the invoice will be fully payable in either SNC tokens or in EUR. We believe that this will contribute to the liquidity and long term growth of the SNC token which lies at the foundation of each and every transaction settled on the platform.

As a result of this new change, the amended General Terms and Conditions for the Supply of Electricity will enter into force on 1 November 2020.

Please note: There’s nothing you need to do for this changeover to the new invoice to happen. We’ve worked hard behind the scenes to ensure this is a seamless transition. As ever, if you have any questions or queries, don’t hesitate to get in touch with our team on Telegram.
