SunContract works towards market share acquisition
P2P trading capacity of 100,000 average users expected on platform in 2020
In a world saturated with digital messaging, it’s no surprise that many consumers enjoy in-person interactions. In-person events engage consumers in an immediate way, and they help build a positive brand association.
We have experienced this first-hand, 3 times now, at all information sessions that we have hosted this and last month — for producers of electricity. Our goal of capacities of 100,000 average users by 2020 in more countries is not a small one and we understand that to meet it, we must be as personal as possible in our approach with prospective platform adopters.

At these informational sessions, we presented the benefits of joining the SunContract energy marketplace to interested parties and also answered questions — of which there were many — given our technology is new in energy.

I heard about the SunContract platform before but today I received the whole picture of how it works and how the selling of energy happens. I think the idea is great. The most interesting part is the internal market on the platform where all the negotiation between electricity producers and consumers happens. Until today, the field was heavily regulated and transactions between consumers could not happen. The second positive aspect is the fact that from now on energy surpluses (from self-sufficient power plants) will not be automatically transferred to retailers for free. Energy producers have an option now to donate the surplus to someone else or save it for the next year. SunContract platform’s approach is very refreshing. Today’s event was very successful and we received many interesting questions. Producers were very interested in the features of the platform and flexibility they can get with it. The feedback we get from platform users is very important for us because we can improve on it and upgrade platform usability. Green energy producers are an important player on the SunContract platform because they produce sustainable and pocket friendly energy, making it possible for P2P energy trading to happen. Our events have been attended by some representatives of big businesses that were interested in being consumers on the platform. We are very encouraged with the results of our events as they were fruitful.

SunContract is an energy trading platform that directly connects energy producers and consumers into an energy marketplace based on smart contracts. The blockchain technologies are implemented into existing energy distribution systems without changing the general energy regulation framework. We have already developed and launched our pilot project which is in use on a national level in Slovenia and we will be expanding into Italy in 2019, with more countries to follow.
