Mark Twain is a beloved name in American literature. Visiting his family home in Hartford, Connecticut,provides a private glimpse into the intimate life of Samuel Clemens, known by his pen name, Mark Twain. The house has a unique sense of personality. Its bright red exterior, featuring many peaks, is hard to miss, as was the intention. A house to match the man, Mark Twain, a true character ahead of his time and artist at heart. Many of his most important works were written in this house, such as The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn(1884), The Prince and the Pauper(1881), Tom Sawyer(1876) among others. The house was under both private and public ownership for several years, until it was saved by preservationists in 1929.
