“Yet if we can experience the moment we’re in, we discover that it is unique, precious and completely fresh. It never happens twice. One can appreciate and celebrate each moment — there’s nothing more sacred. There’s nothing more vast or absolute. In fact, there’s nothing more!”

Pema Chödrön in Start Where you Are

The Spaces we Share

The holiday season creates these moments where we are brought together in the same space and same moment as the people we love.

Perhaps it’s around a dinner table, or within the cozy confines of a family home, or wherever else those moments may take place — but it’s in that shared space and moment that we are afforded the opportunity to be truly present with one another.

But in the chaos of the holidays — the busyness of wrapping up our work for the year, the uptick of consumerism that floods our cities, the stress of travel and schedules — we may lose perspective of how precious those moments are.

To be hugged by those four walls, to be able to look someone in the eye with love and compassion, to be able to touch them, hold them, truly be in their presence. Those moments and spaces that we share are fleeting. Practice gratitude; be present.

In a world that is so vast, and where the present slips away from us each and every moment, to share a space and moment with the people we love is a gift. We think to remind you of that is the best gift we can give you this Christmas day.
