Where Does Value Want To Live?

In markets that shut down and shut out or in markets that never sleep, open to anyone, anywhere, anytime?

Where does value want to live?

Where it is corruptible or where it is immutable?

Where it is exclusive to an elite slice of humanity that has access to reliable-ish banks and reliable-ish currency or where it is open to everyone, everywhere no matter how corrupt their leaders or broken their banks?

Where it can be inflated away and confiscated by those in power or where it lives free from seizure and dilution?

Where does value want to live?

In the hands of rent-seeking middlemen or in the hands of those who create it?

In a world where you need to trust suits behind closed doors or in a world where you need to trust that 1 + 1 = 2?

On platforms that sell your data or on platforms that secure it?

On networks incentivized to violate your privacy or on networks built from the ground up to protect it?

Where it is prone to single points of failure or where it is secured by the most resilient, distributed networks in the world?

Where it is dumb and lifeless or where it is smart and programmable?

Where does value want to live?

On pieces of paper given worth only by faith in rulers who inflate it away to fund wars against other rulers with other pieces of paper or…where it demands no faith?

Where does value want to live?

In handcuffs, begging for permission, or where it is free to move anywhere, anytime?

In a world where banking is done behind closed doors by a select few or where you can carry around a bank in your pocket?

Where it crawls through red tape and across borders or where it travels freely at the speed of light, anywhere, anytime?

Where does value want to live?

Where the administrators of the status quo demand it stay or where the architects of tomorrow believe it belongs?

Where does value want to live?

In the past…or in the future?
