Sup! It is amazing how time flies — The world’s wackiest NFT was minted on the ethereum blockchain 2 years ago. Web3 would never be the same…On July 17th, 2021, SupDucks was born! Read all about the journey below.👇

The Creation 🎨

Deep in the bull market jungle of 2021, a renowned artist and blockchain OG by the alias ‘FrankyNines’ was cooking up something special — 220 wacky, colorful traits and a vision for what entertainment and identity could look like in web3. Thus, SupDucks was born!

Franky worked closely with a team of experienced business owners and developers to take his vision to the next level. MegaVolt Corp became the incubator for the project we know and love. On July 17th, 2021, MegaVolt’s vision was brought to life, selling out in less than 48 hours! From the very first mint to now, MegaVolt Corp has worked tirelessly to push their vision to new heights. The result? — Two years of extraordinary innovation in web3!

The World of SupDucks 🦆⚡️🐸

The SupDucks ecosystem evolved quickly, with new friends popping up to build out the pond.

VOLT

Shortly after the inception of SupDucks, MegaVolt introduced the native utility token for the ecosystem — Voltage [VOLT]. The token was first issued as a voluntary claim for SupDuck holders, with the remainder of the supply distributed to holders at a rate of 10 VOLT per SupDuck each day.

VOLT was essential for the rollouts that followed, and has remained an integral component of the SupDucks economy. In September of 2022, VOLT mechanics received a major update — VOLT 2.0.

KingFrog

Every SupDuck needs a best friend — enter KingFrog!

At the end of our first ‘Suptember’, folks could claim KingFrogs that shared the same traits as their SupDuck counterparts. In addition, 10,000 KingFrogs with all new traits were opened for a dutch auction mint! The new collection minted out in just an hour!

Not only were KingFrogs another display of Franky’s one-of-a-kind art, but it was the first venture into user generated content for the project. ‘Melvin’s Snack Corner’ opened up, allowing users to buy snacks they could feed to their frogs, adding a sick animation. VOLT would play an integral part in this process.

MegaToad

Snack feeding made for an excellent way to upgrade your KingFrogs, but the utility didn’t stop there. After two months of frog feeding, it was time to mash!

By combining three fed KingFrogs, users could build and mint their very own customized MegaToad. Each frog used to build the MegaToad was burned and the new NFT would encompass each of the user’s favorite traits all in one. 1,000 MegaToads were minted; 3,000 KingFrogs were burned.

Fast forward to April 20, 2022 — SupDucks received the trip of a lifetime. SupDucks were introduced to Dr. Drools lab, where they could lick their MegaToad. Depending on the level (1–10) of the toad, the SupDuck received an animation that got trippier with each level.

SupDucksVX

Shortly after whacky SupDucks came SupDucksVX . These fully-rendered voxels took SupDucks into the Metaverse. Users could now sport their duck in games like the industry-renowned Sandbox!

The potential for VX SupDucks is seemingly limitless. These voxel avatars give way for a whole new side of in-game identity.

Crypto SupDucks

On July 17, 2022, the SupDucks celebrated its first birthday. As a reward for those who were holding pieces of the OG collection, folks were airdropped Crypto SupDucks that corresponded to their genesis piece(s). The Crypto SupDucks took Franky’s unique art into pixelated form — a nod to the digital landscape that makes web3 so special.

SlyCrocs

Our most recent addition to the SupDucks family, SlyCrocs, re-invented the calendar we all knew — After ‘Suptember’ came ‘Croctober’!

MegaVolt partnered with the top sports betting platform, DraftKings, to bring you the freshest pfp collection on the Polygon blockchain. SlyCroc holders receive access to seasonal utility on the DraftKings’ platform as well as token-gated utility in the SupDucks’ ecosystem.

The SlyCroc mint showed us just how undercover web3 can be. Those who minted on DraftKings did so with USD, with transactions settled behind the scenes on Polygon. This was a perfect example of bringing blockchain to the masses!

Pushing the Boundaries 🔨⚙️

Over the span of two years, MegaVolt has pushed the boundaries of innovation in web3 tirelessly. Let’s explore the many ways MegaVolt sets itself apart.

Building Together

From the very beginning, the SupDucks community was at the forefront of creative direction — How could the project build its long-term vision with its passionate holders in mind?

Franky took this notion to a whole new level with weekly livestreams on YouTube, with the purpose of laying the foundation for SupDucks while connecting with his audience. Members of the Pond could look forward to updates every week, with their input having a significant weight on the development.

The community was even responsible for picking the direction of the pilot episode of the SupDucks cartoon! This pilot was later debuted to holders, featuring a talented cast and a knee-slapping plot.

User-Generated Content

As previously mentioned, one of the earliest innovations was the user-generated content such as feeding KingFrogs and mashing them to make MegaToads. Each whacky level also produced a different trip animation for the SupDucks brave enough to lick a toad. This gave way for even more creativity as folks could determine the best look to give their SupDucks.

Exploring the Metaverse

One of the coolest features of web3 is that of the Metaverse — a concept for building worlds on blockchain for users to immerse themselves in. MegaVolt was able to put its stake in the virtual grounds of Sandbox, the most used open world in blockchain, by building its famous boardwalk for users to explore. The land was built right next to Snoop Dogg’s neighborhood, as he is a huge fan of the project. VX holders can take their SupDucks for a stroll around the Sandbox world and visit the boardwalk in game!

Gamify Your NFT Experience

Building upon the versatile nature of the SupDucks ecosystem, MegaVolt recently released a free mobile game, KingFrog Crossing, available on iOS and Android.

Help KingFrog as he hops his way across the boardwalk. Avoid obstacles, collect power ups, set a new high score, and win prizes! The mobile game arrived with a plethora of cool features.

DuckGod

Storytelling has been at the forefront of creative direction for the SupDucks ecosystem, with each rollout adding to the lore of the universe. The DuckGod is a concept that serves to build onto the history behind SupDucks, with seasonal drops to keep the community on its toes.

The most recent drop is a KingFrog battle royale, Quetzal Returns. Players can enlist their KingFrogs into battle and equip them with various armor to bolster defenses. With each passing block on the ethereum blockchain, the Quetzal will make its attack until only one brave KingFrog remains
