Sups for Ducks and Snaps for the Crocs!
Croctober 2022 was one for the sportsbooks! SlyCrocs dropped to kick off the month, launching 2500 new pond characters to go down as the first NFT pfp drop on DraftKings Marketplace!
We kept the competitions rolling with croc-specific weekly challenges, VX domination, Runner’s League, Galaxy Fight Club, and then our own in-house art challenge based on the SupDucks cartoon pilot! If you missed out on any of these events and want to get caught up before the Jungle DuckGod and Toadvember, KingFrog suggests mastering the art of the scroll.
SlyCrocs Join the Pond :
On October 11th, 2500 new pond-dwelling creatures from the mind of FrankyNines became the first PFP project to sell out on the DraftKings Marketplace. SlyCrocs are bright and savage, twisting that SupDuck flare in with utility for any sports fan that can access the DraftKings Sportsbook.
In addition to bringing in a whole new base of holders, the DK ReignMakers banter and challenges keep the SlyCroc chat active and full of snaps and snap-backs! You can shop SlyCrocs from the DraftKings Marketplace here. If you are out of the DK jurisdictions you can shop SlyCrocs on Opensea, and you can follow this document to stay up to date with upcoming competitions and SlyCroc utility!
SupDucks VX Takeover:
On October 18th, SupDucks VX were admitted into The SandBox for the end of season three! We have had a couple of meetups led by Spicy and Voxel. If you haven’t heard of them, they were the ducks who first became famous for posting up behind that infamous soup spot in Seinfeld to sell their own recipe to any of the rejects!
If you weren’t able to get your Sandbox fix, we will be back around for season four with some surprises! In the meantime, Internethokage has been hard at work in VRChat setting up the SupDucks boardwalk! We will continue to have parties, meetings, and meetups here as it expands. KingFrog wanted me to issue a disclaimer that after 3 hours behind the wheel of an oculus you can expect your place of living to start eroding into “the stacks”.
SupDucks x Video Games
Croctober was also the month to showcase some of our smaller partnerships with projects that are implementing communities into crypto-based games! Runner League by the Cryptofoxes featured a SupDucks character for season one, only playable by duck holders!
Galaxy Fight Club implemented the SupDucks VX models, solving a year-long utility issue where holders could not equip boxing gloves to their ducks in order to beat the pulp out of monkeys with bad pathing.
In addition to the banter, there was a 2-week long trophy run for holders to earn various NFTs from GFC. Pay attention to our discord because the next event is a SupDuck-only in-house tournament with 9 SupDucks available as prizes! If you want more details, Ringalls hosts a Tuesday evening game night within the server featuring all these partnerships and others!
Perks x POAPS
To add more frequent utility for holders, we launched the SupDucks perk shop! If you go to https://perk.shop/supducks you will be able to connect to your wallet that holds SupDucks assets and claim the perks you qualify for! If you have questions about the shop or want to know how to use token proof to connect your qualifying wallets please read this document.
In addition to certain assets qualifying for perks, we are implementing a fun participation system by allowing artists and community members from SupDucks to create pieces that we can use for POAPS. “Proof-of-Attendance-Protocol”, we will be issuing these tokens for events and will token gate certain ones within the perk shop!
It was Indeed, a SupDucks Hallows Eve!
On Croctober 30th, B-Love and Julzy hosted a giant community meetup! We started with a 65-minute Sup-train (over a hundred people typed “sup” nonstop for over an hour). Then we rolled into some of the events! In addition to highlighting our community artists and announcing the perk shop, we revealed some info about the SupDucks DAO.
Megavolt has committed 10 weth and 1 million $VOLT to summon the dao! Participants will be required to stake 1000 $VOLT in order to receive 10 Sup shares! Documentation on how to join will be circulating in the SupDucks Discord throughout Toadvember! Pay attention to the community announcements, we are excited to allow our holders some governance and $VOLT utility!
Using a couple of sneak peeks from the cartoon pilot, the SupDucks community had 4 weeks to come up with the next scene from these prompts! Shoutout and huge sups to all the artists that participated, we had some awesome submissions!
Community Spotlight: Crypto Dave
One of our community favorites and special muscle members TROPIC BIRD sat down with Dave to talk Sups and Ducks…
TB: “Tell us how you got into crypto/web 3?”
CD: “I first discovered cryptocurrencies in 2017. I was a senior in high school and a friend I worked with had a few bitcoin. Didn’t think too much then. As I kept coming back to the topic of bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, I became increasingly interested in the topic, but never thought to invest. After finishing my first semester of college, completing a personal finance course in the process, I had become highly interested in investments and money management. After further research, I was absolutely hell bent on the potential of cryptocurrencies. I pulled the trigger on my first BTC purchase in December of 2018. The rest was history!”
TB: “How did you discover SupDucks?”
CD: “Before SupDucks, I had only come across the more common “OG” projects — punks, chromies, BAYC, cool cats, pudgy penguins, etc. I truthfully didn’t think much of the potential value that NFT art/collections would have, but I thought the utility of a non-fungible token on the blockchain had a load of potential in terms of applications. One day in late July of 2021, my friend ogkoen (web3 alias) told me to go to the SupDucks website. FaZe Banks had mentioned them on his instagram story. I remember it like it was yesterday. It was the only project that had been visually appealing — and to say “visually appealing” would be an understatement. We were hooked on them. We did some research on the rarity, hopped in the discord server and bought a few of them. We were pure NFT degenerates just having a ton of fun!”
TB: “What about the community? How does it compare to others you’ve been in?”
CD: “I have truthfully only explored a small handful of other communities in my NFT experience. Most communities I only see from the outside looking in. All I can say about the SupDucks community is that it has been nothing but good experiences with everyone I have talked to and networked with. The community itself has so much value in that it is full of web3 builders with a wide variety of skills. That is a very important aspect about this community. Everyone is very positive and has something to offer, and the team knows it. The way that MegaVoltCorp works to incorporate its community into its endeavors really gives us an immersive web3 experience, as well as a great platform to show our strengths and build in this space. There are not many communities — big or small — that compare to the SupDucks. A true OG!”
TB: “Tell us about your current crypto work?”
CD: “I am an analyst, trader/investor, and educator of cryptocurrencies. I have been fortunate to experience plenty of successes and failures that have ultimately sharpened my skills over time. I believe there is no true substitute for experience, but there are certainly good and bad ways to build a foundation. I strongly believe in the potential of blockchain technology, cryptocurrencies and most everything that comes with web3. One of the main issues is that it can be such a daunting topic, which really turns people away.
My goal is to serve as a guide for those in web3 looking to learn how to best approach the market for their individual needs/goals. Everyone is different. Proper guidance is something I truly wish I had before I started investing and trading. Fortunately, I was in the right place at the right time and did a lot of homework. I currently run a Discord server called Crypto Dave’s Headquarters. This is my playground for my crypto content. I post all sorts of fundamental and technical analysis and news, as well as my own educational reports that I compile during my own research for the use of others. I plan to begin streaming/making YouTube videos, creating courses, and building my own trading algorithm. I see no limit or box to define myself to. There is no sky, there is no limit!”
