Attending PAX West 2021

The gaming convention returns

Believe it or not, PAX West 2021 has already come and gone. Over the weekend of September 3rd, in the heart of the Pacific Northwest’s own Emerald City, thousands of people flocked to downtown Seattle to enjoy four full days of unbridled nerd revelry. Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, and while not as packed as a typical year, an estimated 16,000 people still attended the convention and flooded the four buildings downtown associated with the event.

Like many others, I was apprehensive about my first big event since the outbreak, but the good people who organize PAX took every precaution possible to ensure the safety of those attending. Proof of vaccination or proof of a negative Covid test granted you a black wristband, which was required to enter the show floor or any events. Despite how things have been, the entire event was handled amicably and allowed for a smaller, more intimate time with those who attended and those who set up their booths to peddle the next great indie game.
