Cyberpunk is a genre of speculative fiction that examines the transformative effects of advanced science and technology (cyber) in hand with a breakdown in society (punk). The genre is popular for its gritty and dystopian nature.
Cyberpunk 2077 has been one of the most hotly anticipated game releases in recent years. It’s seen a resurgence in the genre’s popularity, credit that it shares with other media works such as Blade Runner 2049.

Deus Ex
For many years, Deus Ex was seen as the cyberpunk game. Set in a dystopian future, players took control of JC Denton, a rookie anti-terrorist operative, trying to navigate through a corrupt world full of conspiracy theories and genetic modification. It continues to receive praise for its design, players have even pulled off pacifist runs.
