Every Next-Gen Game Playable on Launch

Here are the PS5 and Xbox Series S/X games you can play on launch day, including next-gen exclusives and current-gen upgrades

The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X are right around the corner. Given that they are so close to launch, it’s no surprise that we’ve been hit with a massive amount of information around specs, new features, UI, and all kinds of other stuff that’s raising hype levels.

But there’s an outstanding question that many players are struggling with: what games can I play on my shiny new console on launch day? Fortunately, we’re here to help.

Let’s get something important out of the way first: most of the games coming out over the next couple of months are being made for both current and next-gen consoles. If you weren’t able to pre-order one of the new machines (or you simply don’t want to make the leap just yet), you’re still in good shape to enjoy many of these games. That means you can still play Cyberpunk 2077 and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, for example, on your current-gen console.
