Genki: The Must Have Accessories for Nintendo Switch
From Kickstarter to gadget king
In 2017, Eddie Tsai, Christopher Yue, and Andrew Geng founded Human Things Inc. and established the Genki brand. They launched their first product on Kickstarter in 2018 and it has been a monumental success.
I’m writing this because I’m passionate about their products, and this is an unpaid article. I found the Covert Dock project on Kickstarter in 2018, and it felt like a dream come true. I had been disconnecting my Switch dock prior to this and lugging it around. It was a headache to crawl under the dusty underbelly of my entertainment area; unplug the power cord, unplug the dock, and disconnect the HDMI. All to pack up the cumbersome Switch dock to play elsewhere. I hoped that the Covert Dock project would succeed to make my life easier.
The project had overwhelming success, crushing their meager goal of $50k. Looking at my kickstarter history, the Covert Dock project raised $1.7 million, proof of the demand to play the Switch outside of one’s own home living room TV. Since then, they have had success with many other accessories, and I’ll talk about my top three.
