It’s the most mature season yet, and the ending couldn’t be more perfect

The fourth and final season of Castlevania, Netflix’s TV adaptation of the Konami video game franchise, released on May 13th worldwide. In 10 episodes, the storylines of Dracula, Alucard, Trevor Belmont and Sypha are brought to a momentous close. The show takes care to tie every loose end, offering a satisfying conclusion for fans who have been following the show’s characters since the first season released back in 2017.

For gamers, the show pulls characters, monsters and locations from the Castlevania games, providing backstories and lore in a digestible, dramatic animated format. As a TV series, Castlevania is special because its storytelling offers Shakespearean levels of character conflict and intensity, stunning animation, explosively creative battle scenes and flashes of dry, dark humor.

My favorite episodes of the entire series are the following: Season 2, Episode 7 “For Love” and the very last episode, Season 4 Episode 10, “It’s Been a Strange Ride.” “For Love” has some of the best fight scenes in the entire show, only rivaled by the end Season 4.
