Ever since the Nintendo Switch’s launch, the handheld-console hybrid has spawned numerous titles that have committed to nothing short of blowing fans away. One of these astonishing pieces is The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, a game that was highly anticipated for many years prior to the release of the Switch.
Breath of the Wild is a game unlike any other, captivating new and old fans alike with its massive world that dwarfs the player with awe-inspiring scale. The world within Breath of the Wild follows that of a “peaceful apocalypse”: a Hyrule that has not yet drawn its last breath (pun unintended), yet falls far from what the kingdom it once was.
The story for the game is largely told in cutscenes that Link can encounter throughout the world, acting as memories of the past. These memories tell of “The Great Calamity” and the events leading up to it.
