You may have already the really surprising news Microsoft made yesterday but if you haven’t let me tell you:

The Xbox Series S will retail for $299!

I’d argue that the Series S is Microsoft’s most important piece of gaming hardware to date. Why is this the case? To understand that we’re going have to take a deeper look at its performance and the implications of its price tag.

At only 4 teraflops of GPU performance the Xbox Series S a third as powerful as the Series X. In fact, it’s even less powerful than the last generation Xbox One X (their naming convention sucks), which sits at a decent 6 Teraflops.

But what people may not understand is the genius in Series S. Both the series X and the Series S, play the SAME games at the SAME FPS. The only real difference between the two units will be at their target resolution.

The Xbox Series X aims to get 4k 60FPS and the Series S will get 1440P 60FPS.
