NieR Replicant: A Worthy Prequel to Automata That Appeals to Fans of Other Franchises
Square Enix takes us back to the post-apocalyptic wasteland that created NieR Automata
NieR Replicant is a strange and wonderful game, first released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 back in the day. The game has sold one million units in the last month, making it the number one best-selling game replacing FIFA 21 and It Takes Two in Steam sales the previous week. That is quite an accomplishment for a JRPG, especially one that is the remake of a then-obscure title from more than a decade ago!
This is quickly becoming the best game of 2021, at least until Pokemon Snap releases on the Nintendo Switch. From vast open landscapes to annoying dungeons, this game has it all.

Fun facts: Nier isn’t the main character’s name at all he’s just a random nameless hero, the name is supposed to be the name the player chooses. And did you know the game’s creator thinks the 2017 hit NieR Automata was a fluke and doesn’t expect his games to do well?
