South Korea is Bringing Movie Theatres and Video Games Together

As game design continues to wow the world and become more immersive, the line between video games and blockbuster movies continues to blur. In the wake of the pandemic, much of the world turned to games for entertainment as movie theatres closed their doors. As these theatres reel from the financial loss, one company turned to video games for help. In South Korea, CGV Cinemas is bringing video games and movie theatres together. These theatres are allowing players to experience their favorite video games on the big screen.

CGV is allowing small groups (up to four people) and individual gamers to rent their very own private theatre for $90 USD (before 6PM) and $135 USD (after 6PM). The catch is that you need to provide your own console and game. But this small sacrifice is absolutely worth it, gamers floored by the chance to immerse themselves even further into their favorite game.
