Airship Syndicate’s Ruined King: A League of Legends Story weaves a wonderful tale that will capture League of Legends fans new and old. Blending the design ideas of its previous turn-based RPG, Battle Chasers: Nightwar and LoL’s lore, the game brings together a handful of favorite characters. This take on the franchise gives those characters room to grow over the course of a lengthy and well-paced campaign.

While there were some bugs, a compelling story, decent graphic novel-style art, character development, versatile combat, and RPG mechanics kept me entertained. I was able to experience the world of Runeterra from a more intimate perspective.

Ruined King’s plot centers around the impending awakening of King Viego at the hands of Thresh, who plots to take over the world of Runeterra with the next Ruination. This would be a cataclysmic event much worse than any single Harrowing, and by doing this he would harvest more souls to build his power. The story is great overall, predictable at times but the execution, in this case, mattered more than the actual story being told…
