Ultimate Chicken Horse is the Perfect Party Game You Never Tried

SUPERJUMP is currently publishing a series of stories that are all about celebrating indie games (when the series is done, we’ll pull them into a larger feature — Ed). One reason I wanted to participate in the series is to shine a light on lesser-known indie games that deserve more attention. One of the biggest examples is Ultimate Chicken Horse by Clever Endeavor Games. I played this on a random lark one night, and it’s since become a mainstay of my multiplayer streams (and one of my favorite party games).

Platformer party

There have been plenty of platformers aimed as multiplayer and party experiences over the last decade; many of which focus on simple platforming with the challenge coming from your friends. One of the more famous examples would be Speedrunners by Double Dutch Games. A lot of these party platformers typically are more about moving or playing with chaotic physics (like Fall Guys) rather than have the platforming itself being the focus of the challenge.
