Logging into my favorite MMORPG as “Captain Blubbersnout” never disappointed my infant and imaginative mind. MMOs have always lived up the “massively multiplayer online” name, amassing enormous playerbases that fill up huge, lore-rich worlds. Popular MMOs like Final Fantasy XIV and World of Warcraft do just that, but there are some special ones that take on a different persona. Toontown Online was one of those games.

Within the whimsical world of Toontown, you control a Toon. The wacky Toons of Toontown relish in jokes and gags, propagating a jestful, carefree life for everyone. In a saturated medium of fantasy and serious action titles, a cartoonish MMORPG like Toontown was designed under Disney for an audience of children, hoping to stand out among other online games. Fortunately, Toontown did just that.

History of Toontown

Disney’s Toontown Online was developed by Disney Interactive, under the Walt Disney Company. Jesse Schell, one of the original developers of Toontown, contributed with Disney Interactive using his own studio, Schell Games, aiding in the development of this unique MMO.
