The question on every Assassin’s Creed fan’s lips right now is where (and when) will the next game take place? The possibilities are endless, and Ubisoft has the entire history with its events to chose from.

Major Assassin’s Creed games have yet to venture to India, China, Japan, and South America, and history is still filled with major events. The only holy rule with AC: If you can drive a motorized car, it’s too modern. Fans do not want to play another replica of Grand Thief Auto.

One can even argue that they will only choose interesting settings from a marketing point of view — this limits the events from which the next AC game can take inspiration from.

However, one thing seems clear. Ubisoft tried to extend the history of the Assassins in Layla Hassan’s trilogy. Odyssey takes place around 431–422 BC and Valhalla plays around 873 AD, while the original Assassin’s Creed plays around 1191. The Assassin’s Order (in real life) was created in 1090, and the first recorded assassination by this order was in 1092.
