Earlier this year Apple released a new operating system for the iPad called the iPadOS. One of the cool new features on iPadOS is the ability to open multiple windows from the same app. This is a cool new addition to Super Simple Draw.

For example, Super Simple Draw can be used as a lightweight todo list or daily planner. It can also be useful as a whiteboard or scratch paper for quickly sketching some ideas. Now with multiple windows, you can do one thing in one window and do the other in a new window. The drawings will be persisted even if the device restarts.

There are several ways to open multiple windows. You need the iPad to be upgraded to iPadOS first.

  • Option 1: hold a finger on the app icon, a menu will pop up and one option is “Show All Windows”. Tap on it, and you will see all the windows from Super Simple Draw (Apple calls this screen App Exposé). The is a (+) icon on the top right corner of the screen which can open a new window.
  • Option 2: when Super Simple Draw is on the screen, swipe slowly from the bottom edge of the screen until the Dock shows and then drag the Super Simple Draw icon to either the left or the right side of the screen.
  • Option 3: when Super Simple Draw is on the screen, swiple slowly from the bottom edge of the screen until the Dock appears and tap Super Simple Draw icon again, and it will enter App Exposé and there you can open a new window with the (+) button from the top right corner.

To close a window, go to App Exposé and swipe the window up. You can also restore a window that is just closed.

Keeping a todo list and a drawing at the same time.
