The Great Smash Grand Prix: a racing story
Chapter One: The Race Begins
One fine sunny day in Sakura park, my friend, Lauren Smash Azalea, am setting up a picnic on the grass. “Hey Brother! Come over here!” she says as she picks up an issue of The Daily Hurricane.
“Oh!The grand prix is coming up at last!” Troy says, looking at the newspaper in awe. A Jewel-wing butterfly lands on Lauren’s finger, giving her a splendid idea! Lauren picks up her phone, ready to call her friend Yuyuko.
“Now that I think about it, I’d say WE enter the race! After all, Our team’s been losing for the last 47 races as I can imagine it. We HAVE to break that losing streak!” says Yuyuko, eating her Strawberry Pocky fast, almost swallowing it.
“Meet me and the others at The Springdale Sports Center tomorrow to discuss our plans for the race coming up.” Says Youmu, drinking her Ice Cream of Life.
Lilla then adds in. “And make sure that you wake up early! The race starts in 2 days, and you don’t wanna be late!” she says.
Another voice adds in. This time it’s Princess Sakura of Bromeliana, the Rainforest Kingdom. “Also, bring some tea to help make you energized!” she says. Lauren and her brother then head home and wake up early the next morning.
Miss Corana then sees Lauren and Troy running past her. “Where are you 2 going?” she asks. “We’re going to Springdale!” they say. “Be back!” she then replies.
“Guys, meet Nekidspeed. He’s an expert at racing, and he’ll help you win that million dollar prize.” Says Sgt. Burly, as he leads us to the garage, full of karts and bikes, ready for racing.
“Are you serious? This bike should be decorated with flowers and ivy! That way, I can stand out from the crowd!” says Mallow, with a sweet marshmallow in her mouth, chewing it throughly.
“Decorate to your Heart’s desire. I’m gonna go gather the rest of the pit crew. Good luck!” says Sgt. Burly as he heads out the door, leaving us to use our imaginations!
Rika Oyashiro gets a kart and puts spray paint and rocket boosters on it. “Come on guys, These karts and bikes aren’t gonna paint themselves!”she says. So we join in.
Satoko Trap puts lightning bolts and hearts on her bike. “Now THIS is what I call shocking, lovely, and fast!” she says.
Kirby dons his warp star, King Dedede and Escargoon put racing stripes on Dedede’s limo, and Meta knight updates his kart with stylish bat wings. “Sire, I can predict that the Villains are gonna enter the race too. so we better watch out.” he says.
Princess Lucia joins in and puts music blasters and silk ribbons on her kart. “Come on girls, Burly’s gonna be here soon!” So all of us rush over to join Lucia, working against the clock.
Sakura Shinguji gets a can of pink spray paint and sparkly glitter to deck out her bike with sparkly pink cherry blossoms. “That Should do it!” she says.
Dr.Doom then sends Lady Urbosa some poisons, acids, and potions in squirt guns. “These will help you poison or burn the enemies.” She says.
Feather, the younger Swan sister, comes in holding a ton of crafting supplies in her hands. “I bought these for you.” she says as she rushes to get her older sister, Onyx.
Nikki then arrives to see her Kart, using sequins, spray paint, glitter, and beads to decorate every part. “That’s the prettiest kart I’ve ever decorated, from plain to fab!” she says as she admires it.
A little while later, Burly arrives, only to be impressed by how we styled our Karts and bikes in our own unique way. “That. Is. AMAZING!!!!!” he yells with pride. “Meet Miss Valerie Frizzle. She’s gonna be your engine booster.” he tells us as Miss Frizzle gives us a wink. “This is Doc Hudson. He’s gonna be your pit crew leader.” He says again. “And this is Olivia, O.G. for short, one of the few kids who know your secret. She’s gonna be on ESPN network tomorrow, and working together with Lakitu, watching the racers.” “Hey guys, long time no see!” I say.
Chapter 2: On Your Marks, Get Set, GO!
“This is ESPN network. The number one sports channel for all sports lovers. Good morning! We have 2 very special guests today- O.G.’s mom, founder of Luxefinds and General Cometstreak! They are hosting for today to watch their 12 year old and 7 year old daughters work with the pit crew!” says the man on ESPN.
“My daughter LOVES racing and now she’s gonna be working with the pit crew. My 8 year old son Also loves racing, and he’s happy to be working with her.” says my mom. “It’s a pleasure to meet with you, ma’am. I really want our team to win, it’s because we’ve had a losing streak in the past 47 years.” says General Cometstreak.
“And Here we are at the Mushroom Kingdom Stadium, where all our racers are here. Let’s get some interviews with some of the pit crew members! Shall we?” I say. I interview all the pit crew members, and soon the race is on.
Emily Winnon, Lauren’s old friend, is waiting at the pit. “Emily!” she says, giving her old bestie a hug. “How’s school going for you?” she then says to Lauren. “Great!” she says.
“Attention, everyone! The race is about to start in 1 minute!” says Glory, the Rainwing Queen from The Dragonet Prophecy says over the speakers. “Then you guys better hurry. Lauren, Sgt. Burly, Troy, Emily, and me will be watching and recording you from the helicopter.
Caroline the Rose Teddy then hands us our water bottles and racing gear. “Good luck out there!” she says as we make our way towards the track.
“Welcome, Welcome, everyone, to the Annual Grand Prix. Our racers are split into 2 teams: The Heroes of Light and The Villains of Shadows! Each team will go through many worlds, and if someone gets hurt, they’re out for good!” says Queen Scarlet, the Ex-Queen of the Skywings.
“Lakitu, mind to start the race?” says Corona as she asks Lakitu to start the Grand Prix. “Sure!” says Lakitu.
“ Racers, start your engines! On your marks… Get set… GO!!!!!” says Lakitu, waving the flag. Me and Lauren watch from above, and the race is on. “Would you look at that! Shadow Kirby slips through one of Dedede’s super slippery mud puddles! And he’s out!” says Troy, using the grapple gun to put Shadow Kirby in the loser’s cage.
“And they’re off to Hyrule!” I say, holding the microphone. “Ha ha ha. You can’t catch up with me, Linkie. You’re gonna be toast.” says Dark Link, Teasing Link, driving his bike furiously. “Well then eat this!” he says. “Dark Link, You’re OUT!” I say. Demise gets KO’D as well.
Zelda catches up on her bike. “Looks like those shadows are done for, but the race is not over yet.” she says as she rushes towards the portal.
“Now it’s off to Planet Popstar, where loops are everywhere and it’s easy to crash!” I say. “Hah, I got a dirty trick up my sleeve… Hot sauce and nails!” says Dedede with enthusiasm as he pours the hot sauce out of the bottle and places nails on the racetrack, slowing Sectonia, Magolor, and Marx down.
“Mind for a side of arrow fries?” says Revali, the Rito champion as he shoots his arrows at Magolor, Marx, and Sectonia as their tires deflate and get stuck in the hot sauce.
Chapter 3: Bombs away!
“Come on, guys! Let’s finish em’ off with a nasty surprise! Bombs away!” Says White as he launches bombs at the other racers, exploding in their faces.
“Nice Shootin, Triple D. Now get to the portal.” says Tigress as she hangs up on Dedede’s phone. We then zoom through the portal and enter Kanto.
“And now we’re heading towards Kanto, where many Pokemon reside. Racers can easily be eliminated due to the fact there are many wild Pokemon here.” says Lauren as Amy Hollybush fires heart bullets at her rivals. Then Ash releases his 30 tauros on Team Rocket, Blasting them off into the Net of Shame. “You’re out!” I yell.
“Wait until you eat THIS, Doug.” says Sarah, drifting a little bit too much, but she think’s it’s OK! Marisa races to the portal, using her speed boost just in time for Cassidy and Butch to crash into the wall! “I think we ran outta gas.” says Butch, his head spinning like crazy.
Lulu uses her sleeping smoke to put Dark Meta Knight to sleep, which is actually a good thing, due to the fact while he is sleeping he crashes into a temple pillar! “Well, that did him good.” Says Dark Pit, flying overhead on his pet vulture Skull, soaring through the ruins.
“Crystal! So, how are the racers doing?” says Lauren to the older Elf princess. “They’re doing amazing!” she says as she looks down on her friends, racing against the bad guys.
“Silly Niku Zatsune, you can’t catch me on my Kart! Buh Bye!” Kaguya says as Niku Zatsune crashes her kart into a rock wall, causing her to be out of the race for good. “Kaguya! We have to make it to the portal before it closes!” says Eirin as she speeds on her bike.
“The Freezing North Mountain. It’s really cold here, so racers can easily get lost in the deep snow here. So racers, be careful!” I say as the racers race against the snow and blizzard making machines.
“Amazing, Natalie darling! You whipped up a Cherry Blossom storm that sent Prince Hans flying!” says Mettaton as he gives a compliment to Nadeshiko (Natalie) in her gorgeous Yamato Maihime form for giving him backup.
Daruk, the Goron Champion, comes in on his flaming Divine Beast Vah Rudania. “Lizard coming through!” he says as he stomps through the racers, searing Jackson Storm’s new paint job.
“I’m getting the hang of this!” says Glitter Sunny as she speeds through the deep snow, making a trail so perfectly straight, that when the others follow her, they don’t get stuck, but Lord Garmadon does.
“Here. This will help keep you going, Anna!” says Amu as she tosses some honey buns to help Anna keep going. “That IS Good!” says Anna as she drives her kart.
“The Magical Fairytopia! Just so you know, There are lots of paths and twists in this course, so be careful where you go!” says Lauren as she and I watch the racers as they make their way through the race course.
Corsia then gives You Wantanabe a shiny silver bubble blaster. “This’ll make your enemies wet!” she says. “Got it!” says You.
You Wantanabe then goes into her Mermaid form, and attaches the bubble blaster to her to her and Kotori Minami’s Kart. “Bubbling Blast!” she says, getting Emperor Zurg in front of her wet.
“That’s amazing!” says Kotori as she and You speed up, catching up with Buzz and Woody. “I KO’d Zurg!” says Kotori to Buzz Lightyear.
“Well done, Cadet. Star Command would be proud to hear from you.” says Buzz as he and Woody catch up with Rex and Trixie in their Dino-Kart. “To Infinity, And Beyond!” he says as he flies off to catch up with the others.
Cherry, Thorn, Meteor, and Needle then speed up on their specialized bikes and karts. Cherry uses her special juice grenades at King Candy, Thorn shoots his spiky whips at Jafar, Meteor shoots stars from her hammer at Tamatoa, knocking him over, and Needle uses her magical thread to tangle up Gaston. “See you guys at the finish line!” they all tease in unison.
On their Candy Bike, Mami and Nagisa are shooting bubblegum and poison ivy at their opponents. “Nice shot!” I say. “Thanks!” says Mami.
“There’s the portal, Momo!” says Nikki as she speeds up on her Kart, making it to the portal before it closes. “Yes!” I yell through the megaphone.
Chapter 4: Twisters and Loopers
“Let’s get this race on!” says Flandre as she shoots an arrow at Laverna’s expensive car, ramming it into a wall in The Cave of Reflection.
“Green Hill Zone. A home to Sonic and his friends and the perfect place for a picnic. Just remember there are lots of loops here!” I say, hanging from the helicopter.
Nagihiko goes into Beat Jumper and with a mighty kick, sends Doctor Eggman flying. “YOU LITTLE PINGAS!!!!!!” he yells. “Hawlucha and Nagihiko, that was awesome!” says Ash, giving a compliment to his fighting/flying type partner and Nina.
“Good work, Nina.”says Spaclia through her phone. “But you’re about to enter a cave, so be careful.” got it! Says Nina.
“Cassie! Use your Nightmare Lorelei to slow down the oni!” says Nathaniel, heading towards the portal. “Nightmare Lorelei!!!!” says Utau, firing some dark energy against the oni.
Starflight the Prophecy Nightwing then comes speeding through. “Nightwing, coming through!” he says, using his wing to block the view from Shadowstar. “YOU LITTLE DRAGON!” he yells.
“Clara! Take those pirates out with your tightrope skills!” says Papyrus, giving Rima the chance to use her ropes to tangle Cap’n Crash and the road pirates in a mess.
“Ah, Beautiful Herbal City! A place where both humans and monsters reside in peace, but you must know this city has been modified into a race track!” I say, watching the racers.
Ian becomes Death Rebel and uses his scythe to stab Shadow Queen’s bike and with the help of Sans, he manages to KO Shadow Queen. “HOW DARE YOU DO THIS TO A LADY!!!!” she yells furiously.
“Come on Suzy, rev up those boosters, because a HUGE loop is coming in!” says Alphys to Suzy, doing what she’s asked to do. “Wheeeee!” she says.
Clownpiece decides to take things a LITTLE too far and decides to throw a Starlight bomb, exploding in Chara and Flowey’s faces! “OUR EYES!!!!” they say as they topple off a cliff, plummeting to their doom in The Net of Shame.
Urbosa, the Gerudo Champion, then comes in behind her Desert bike, doing flips as she speeds along the streets. “Next stop, Springdale, the home of the 2 Yo-Kai Watch bearers, Nate and Inaho.” she says.
Princess Sea Nettle then says to Clownpiece, “You were amazing!” she compliments. “Thank YOU!” she says, and soon we’re off to Springdale, the hometown of Nate Adams.
“Beautiful Springdale. Home to many crazy Japanese spirits called Yo-kai, this place is teeming with them, like me, Sgt. Burly. So watch out!” says Sgt. Burly, watching the racers race against each other.
“Come on, Zoe! I know you can use your duckies to slow down enemies, so why don’t you try it on racers?” says Undyne, giving Zoe a chance to use her ducks to slow down Mckracken, launching him and Doctor Maddiman (Who are covered in Eirin Yagokoro’s arrows and Byakuren Hijuri’s Lotus vines) into a boulder, getting them out of the race.
Jake uses Golden Victory shoot to give backup to Frisk, and KO Chick Hicks at the same time. “THAT WAS AWESOME!!!!” Frisk says.
Berry, Mallona, Puffina, and Teddina give backup, too. Berry blows tons of kisses at the Wicked Yo-Kai, making them confused and having them crash into each other. Mallona handles the defense, while Puffina shoots her arrows, defending us. And Teddina distracts the Wicked Yo-Kai while Berry blows her kisses. “Sayanora!” (Japanese for Goodbye) they tease as they speed up.
Cirno uses her Perfect freeze to slow down the Wicked Executives, who are shocked and terrified at the same time. “Cold enough for you, you ask? EAT THIS!” she says as she fires an icy blast at the Wicked.
Terence uses Holy Crown to defend him and his allies from Dame Dedtime’s black laser, which backfires onto them perfectly. “Time for us to use our secret weapon: The Cutincheeze stink rocket!” say Junko and Patchouli Knowledge as they fire the stink rocket at Dame Dedtime and her servants, forcing them to stink badly and drive into the lava. “YOU’RE OUT!!!!” I say.
In Gera Gera Resort, we speed past capsules and other obstacles. “See you at the finish line, baddies.” says Lunar as she teases Maxie and Archie, making them so distracted, that a Capsule runs into them. “YOU’RE OUT!” I say as I pull them up. “I think I just pulled a muscle…” says Maxie as he lays down on the healing bed as I put a cast over his foot.
Chapter 5: A Sweet Victory
“The Magnificent Gensokyo! A beautiful paradise for all to see, with it’s magical places, this is one of the best vacation spots in Video Game City. But beware: Like Springdale, this place is full of Yo-kai, so watch out!” I say through the megaphone.
“Hurry Ken, use your swords to slash though that bamboo!” says Venoct as Ken uses his katana swords to chop up the bamboo to clear a path for the racers.
“We HAVE to make the jump! There’s no other way you can get to the other side! Literally!” says Sailor Moon, as she makes the jump across to the portal.
The girls of Muse then catch up to us. “Turns out, most of the villains are out of the race, so this means we’re actually winning!” says Nico Yazawa as she speeds up on her shiny pink kart.
Mipha and her brother Sidon race through the portal on their Zora-Cycle, shooting soapy bubbles at their enemies. “Looks like this race is gonna be amazing when we finish it!” she says.
“And this is Bricksburg, the home of Emmet and all his friends. Make sure to avoid any Micro Managers, for they shoot lasers that can break apart your karts and bikes!” I say as the racers speed up.
Starlight uses her special Star Bombs to slow down Bad Cop, which makes him seriously stuck to the streets. “Aw, come on!” he says as we lift him up into the rescue copter.
Luna then takes the spotlight. “Time for a little water!” she says as she summons a drizzle to refresh us. “Much better!” says Dedede to Luna.
Sailor Moon and her friends pull up behind us. “Looks like we’re still in the lead!”says Sailor Venus as she checks the race course on her iPad. The Blue dot is us, while the red dot is the bad guys.
Moonwatcher soars overhead. “Looks like there are almost no bad guys. Look’s like we’re gonna win!” she says as she breathes fire on Miss Fritter, searing her paint job.
Goldie uses her Zither to then play a raging tune, causing Lord Business to go deaf. “Why Did you do this?” he says as he crashes his car into a wall, while we go through the portal.
“And We’re back in the Mushroom Kingdom, heading towards the finish line!” I say excitedly as the racers get back to the stadium.
“Come on Bayonetta, you CAN Do this! After all, We’re one of the best pairs!” says Paulentina, urging her best friend to win the race.
King Shadowstar catches up with the 2… But only to be blinded by Bayonetta’s 25 carat diamond hood ornament via sunlight. And thanks to the shiny hood ornament, Team Smash wins the race at last!
“Yay, we actually won!” says Tsunami, the prophecy Seawing as she lands on the ground next to Peril, the Jade Winglet Skywing.
After the race, Shadowstar snaps at me and says, “Silly you, I won the race! My monster truck was more dark than Bayonetta’s, after all.” he says. “Look at what she and her friends did to your minions.” I say, pointing at the villains.
Shadowstar gasps in horror! The villains are all burnt to a crisp, their clothes are ripped, they have scars on their faces, worst of all, they ALL have surgery and broken bones. “LOOK AT WHAT THEY DID TO MY DRESS!!!” yells Shadow Queen with Anger, holding up her skirt filled with rips. “Yeah. That lava burnt some of my clothes and I need a backup!” adds Dame Dedtime, covering up her charred clothes. “That’s not all!” I say, showing the team a picture of the hood ornament crossing the finish line. Everyone gasps.
Peril then says, “Wow. How can a giant monster truck that cost $5,000 plus the paint job… Lose to a sports car?” she wonders. “It’s the hood ornament!” adds Clay, the prophecy Mudwing.
“See? I TOLD you the hood ornament would come in handy!”I say, giving the hood ornament back to Bayonetta “Thanks.” she replies. “Speaking of money, who wants to order pizza to celebrate our success?” says Spongebob as he leaps out of the Patty Wagon into the trophy full of money. Everyone laughs. It’s the perfect way to end a day of racing.

Moral: Strength always comes in Numbers, so work together if you wanna win something good!
