Numbers

  • XRDC VR/AR Innovation Report finds 29.79% of developers are building ARCore apps while 24.48% are using ARKit (Gamasutra)
  • XR analyst firm, Digi-Capital, released new charts and data on AR & VR based on its newly launched analytics platform in a recent TechCrunch article. Among the stats in this post, Digi-Capital states that more than $5 billion has been invested in XR in the last 12 months and that mobile AR is the front-runner platform with more than 900 million installed base expected by the end of the year.
  • “Services, AR, and Apple Car will create Apple’s next trillion-dollar market cap,” analyst Ming-Chi Kuo wrote in the research note. Kuo predicts that Apple could release augmented reality glasses by 2020 and a car three to five years after that.
  • The augmented reality (AR) revolution is coming: 86% of industrial enterprises expect their customer-focused AR projects to go live in the next 12 months, according to a recent report from PTC.
