June is over and we never get tired of building indicators, reproducing well known material or completely inventing new stuffs. Will you beat the bear market with what the data mining team brought to Superalgos this month?
9808us : Over June, Nine brought to life to very popular indicators.
Squeeze Momentum is a histogram indicator. According to atas.net, the indicator was created by John Carter. The Squeeze Momentum shows periods when volatility increases or decreases, in other words, when the market goes from the trend into flat movement and vice versa.
Probably the most renown indicator, Nine built a pretty clean version of RSI and Stoch RSI. Is it really necessary to explain what it does ?
Thomas : this month I chose to work only on one original contribution based on mathematical distance calculation to build a serious candidate to hugely improve the trading strategies of Superalgos users. The indictor is described in a Medium article.
The Mahalanobis distance uses a powerful linear algebra algorithm to exploit the covariance matrix of an ensemble indicator and evaluate their relative mathematical distance. It provides solid information on the state of the market and can be a real game changer as a confirmation indicator.
The version provided in Superalgos uses 3 different exponential moving averages and the closing price of the period to give the state of the market in a glimpse.
