SUPERALGOS GOVERNANCE
Data Mining Team Proof of Value, September 2022
Ready for more?
No time to waste, September Proof of Value report from the Data Mining Team is here!
In preparation for upcoming announcements, the entire team is working on a number of initiatives, as was discussed in the last report. Have you seen the hints?
In any case, let’s return to the September Proof of Value report.
Quantum8: Check out the incredible volume indicators that our dear buddy has given us access to in this great data mine!
Volume Tools Data Mine:
- Heatmap Volume
This indicator calculates the standard deviation of a simple moving average (SMA) and presents the resulting volume deviation fro the historical data.
- Heatmap Candles
This indicator calculates the same data as the Heatmap Volume indicator but presents the information as candles as opposed to in oscillator form.
- RVOL
The Relative Volume (RVOL) indicator calculates the projected volume using linear regression, and presents any deviation from the expected output as a potential entry point for a trade.
- Volume Oscillator
This indicator calculates two volume based exponential moving averages of different lengths and displays the difference between them as an oscillator.
- Trend Volume Accumulation
This indicator depicts the accumulations of rising and declining volumes of a trend.
- Highest Volume Index
This indicator compares the current volume with the highest volume from a lookback array.
- OBV EMA
This indicator calculates an On Balance Volume (OBV) value and applies an exponential moving average (EMA) for comparison.
- Faith Index
This indicator compares the buying volume vs the selling volume to show what the prevailing trend is.
Carl/cozed: A long-time member of the data mining team is back! bringing with him a brilliant concept to gauge the zones of support and resistance. This is not available anywhere else! Superalgos exclusive.
Omega One Data Mine:
- SR Zones
SRZones allows you to visually identify areas of possible Support and Resistance by measuring a past given period and create zones based on VWMA.
“Outer lines” are calculated using only the top or bottom fraction of the period — Giving the zones an outer border.
- SR Zones (layered)
When layered, zones where “Outer lines” are clustered together become a sign of a strong Support or Resistance, and price has a greater chance of bouncing off from that area.
Blaa: Has been hard at work creating several indicators.
Tillson Data Mine:
- Tillson T1-T4
From Tim Tillson, pictured below is T1, T2, T3, and T4. It uses a smoothing approach that enables it to produce curves that are more gradual than standard moving averages and have a shorter latency. Being a weighted total of a single EMA, double EMA, triple EMA, and so on gives it a smooth appearance.
- Tillson IE2
Tim Tillson also developed the IE2, and this is a nearly hidden treasure because, in the same article (Stocks and Commodities Jan 1998), he also developed the well-known T3 moving average, but almost no one seems to be aware of the IE2. You can see why this indicator’s name, Integral of Linear Regression Slope + Endpoint Moving Average / 2, was abbreviated to IE2. It takes two variations of smoothing that complement each other and averages them together to in theory get the benefits of each.
Distributions and Probabilities Data Mine:
- Nearest Percentage Rank (included normalized version)
Showing the 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% percentiles over a period.
Oscillator Data Mine:
- Andean Oscillator
Read more about this innovative oscillator, which was ported from the Alpaca Team, at https://alpaca.markets/learn/andean-oscillator-a-new-technical-indicator-based-on-an-online-algorithm-for-trend-analysis/
Fibonacci Data Mine:
- Fibonacci Zones
Blaa’s final contribution this month was in response to a request from a valued member of the community.
Blaa and Carl have done a lot of experimenting with Telegram announcements and discovered a way to integrate HTML markdowns. Telegram supports the following markdowns: https://core.telegram.org/bots/api#html-style
Did you know, by the way, that you can copy and paste emojis into the announcements without using any additional code? 😀
Conclusion
The Data Mining Team has produced a large number of highly polished indicators this month.
In the following months, pay attention to the actions of the DM team. Some incredible things are still in the engineering stage, but they will soon be available to the Superalgos community for an amazing journey!
