Save from the odd naysayer (my parents), MAD MAX FURY ROAD is one the greatest films to ever be shown on the big screen.

During the press tour, director George Miller stated the his favourite version of THE ROAD WARRIOR was exclusively in black and white. The reasoning was that during the silent era, music and sound effects were there to help explain the visuals. So when it came round to scoring ROAD WARRIOR, he had the film in monochrome. Alas that version hasn’t seen the light of day (yet). But, he had said that he wanted to release a black and white version of FURY ROAD.

Which brings us to a few months later, where word of a BLACK & CHROME version of FURY ROAD was coming to home media in the US; with no word on a UK date.

On the 30th April, there will be (seemingly) one day only showings of MAD MAX FURY ROAD: BLACK & CHROME nationwide. This is presumably before a home video release, although I am struggling to find any info on that just yet.

So if you missed FURY ROAD on the big screen, or missed it altogether, this is a second chance to catch it on the big screen, unique format and all. For the rest of us that loved the full colour assault of FURY ROAD back in 2015, here’s a chance to see it with a fresh perspective. And word from across the Atlantic is that this version is something else.
