Animoca Brands has four P2E (play-to-earn) racing games under the “REVV Motorsport" brand. REVV Racing, one of those four crypto racing games, offers players an on-chain racing experience while collecting rewards (you can play it now on Polygon). The gameplay consists of grand tournaments which allow over 1,000 top players to earn both tokens and NFTs as rewards every week.

The REVV token stands at the heart of the REVV Motorsport ecosystem, serving as its central utility and governance token. Designed to empower the community, REVV enables holders to exercise voting power in matters pertaining to the expansive REVV Motorsport ecosystem, with plans for progressive decentralization amplifying its governance influence over time.

Beyond governance, REVV plays a pivotal role in facilitating transactions within REVV Motorsport, acting as the primary currency for acquiring assets, experiences, and NFTs across various game titles. REVV also serves as a catalyst for innovation, with the Foundation utilizing the token to fund new games and experiences that contribute to the ecosystem, fostering growth and diversity. Out of the 3 billion tokens in existence, 250M were allocated to a rewards program for players.

In October 2023, REVV Motorsport announced a distribution of 20M REVV tokens to the long term supporters of the game via Superfluid streams. A major benefit to the REVV community was that the linear distribution helped to reduce the price impact. You can read more about their announcement here.

On December 11th 2023, the reward streams were started to 75 recipients as you can see from our handy developer console. Those streams will be running for 12 months on the Polygon network.

One of the key benefits of the setup adopted by Animoca is that they are using a wallet controlled by their finance team to fund the distribution wallet via a stream that then proceeds to distribute to all 75 recipients — see illustration below. This way the finance team can keep all tokens under tight control, and fund the distribution wallet with the precise by-the-second amount needed to maintain the reward streams running. Should the distribution wallet get compromised, the Finance team could immediately halt the funding stream and redirect it to a new wallet.

This is possible thanks to the composable nature of Superfluid Protocol. Superfluid streams can be split, redirected or passed onwards between addresses, meaning that all the REVV streaming recipients can now forward their incoming stream to third party applications, for example DeFi apps to dollar-cost-average to stablecoins.

And from these DeFi apps streams could continue on to other users, continuously transferring assets fully on-chain without the need for transactions or recurring gas fees. That’s possible thanks to Super Tokens, assets that can be streamed on-chain in a programmatic way. If you’d like to learn more about Super Tokens click here.

We believe more people like you should get paid in real time, receiving tokens in a stream. Rewards distribution is just one of the many use cases of the protocol, join the discussion on Discord to keep up to date with the latest news and new applications!
