Pillow Fight in the Park
Those of all ages are welcome to Grant Park on April 7 for a Pillow Fight in the Park. It starts at 2:00 p.m. and will last until 5:00 p.m. Bring a garbage bag to help keep the park clean after the event.

Free Day at the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area
Entry is free to the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area on April 21! Bring your friends or family on a ride down the river, fishing, or hiking.

FLORIDA

Canopy Shores Park
Bring the kids to explore the new Tree House themed playground at Canopy Shores Park in St. Augustine, Fla. The nature theme of this play structure compliments the beautiful surrounding green space.

Jacksonville Zoo
Visit the animal and garden exhibits at the Jacksonville Zoo in Jacksonville, Fla. It’ll be fun for the whole family!

CALIFORNIA

Sunday Concerts at Golden Gate Park
Visit Golden Gate Park in San Francisco on April 22 and 29 for the beginning of the outdoor concert series by the Golden Gate Park Band. Concerts are free and start at 1:00 p.m. and last until 2:30 or 2:45 p.m.

Earth Day LA
Celebrate Earth Day in Los Angeles at Grand Park on April 19 from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. This free event features food vendors, recycled art, performances, free trees, and more.

TEXAS

Hamilton Pool Reserve
Make a reservation to visit Hamilton Pool Preserve in Drippings Springs, Texas this month. This scenic natural swimming pool sits in a canyon and has a 50-foot waterfall. It’s the perfect place for an afternoon picnic!

Outdoor Concert at Northshore Park
Visit Northshore Park in The Woodlands, Texas on April 8 and 15 for free concert in the park. Concerts start at 5:50 p.m. and last until 7:30 p.m. The April 8 show features an 80s to now cover band and the April 15 show features a piano performer.

Día del Niño Health Walk & Family Festival
This family-friendly festival celebrates the children of the Chicago community and the effort to ensure they are happy and healthy. Join the fun at the National Museum of Mexican Art on April 21. Enjoy fitness activities, arts and crafts, performances, and more.

Macy’s Flower Show
Visit the Macy’s on State Street in Chicago until April 8 for the Once Upon a Springtime Flower Show. Enjoy exotic flowers, topiaries, and landscapes at this free event.

KANSAS

Party for the Planet
Bring the family to the Sedgwick County Zoo in Wichita, Kan. for the Party for the Planet event in celebration of the Earth. There will be hands-on activities, learning opportunities for children, and more. This event takes place on April 19 from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Arbor Day Tree Planting
Celebrate Arbor Day by visiting Loose Park in Kansas City on April 21 for planting an edible tree garden.

NORTHEAST

NEW YORK

Earth Day
Head to Union Square in New York City on April 15 to celebrate Earth Day. This free event features children’s activities, live performances, exhibitors, and more. It starts at noon and ends at 7:00 p.m.

9/11 Memorial 5K Run/Walk and Community Day
Sign up for the 9/11 Memorial 5K on April 22 in lower Manhattan. The course goes through Battery Park City and offers views of the Statue of Liberty and One World Trade Center. After the race, Community Day on Greenwich Street features activities and entertainment for the whole family. It’s free and open to the public.

MASSACHUSETTS

Run of the Charles
Participate in or watch the Run of the Charles on April 29 in Boston along the Charles River. This event offers a variety of kayak, canoe, and paddle board races for people of all skill levels. There will be a festival at the finish line with raffles, music, and more.

Statewide Volunteer Day
Sign up to participate in Mass Audubon’s Statewide Volunteer Day on April 28. Choose one of 17 wildlife sanctuaries to help clean throughout Massachusetts. It’s suitable for both children and adults, so bring your family and friends!

NORTHWEST

WASHINGTON

Wildlife Festival
Bring the family to Discovery Park in Seattle on April 21 to enjoy a variety of nature and wildlife activities. These activities include hikes, arts and crafts, hikes, and much more. This festival starts at 1:00 and lasts until 5:00 p.m.

Apple Blossom Festival
The Apple Blossom Festival is the oldest major festival in Washington. Head to Wenatchee between April 26 and May 6 and enjoy arts and crafts, apple pie, golf, carnival, car show, and more!

OREGON

Tulip Festival
Visit the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm in Portland for the Tulip Festival. Enjoy 40 acres of beautiful tulips. There will also be wagon rides, children’s play area, food, and more. Visit the festival between April 2 and April 30.

Earth Day at Oregon Garden
Celebrate Earth Day on April 21 at the Oregon Garden. Admission is free while donations are accepted. There will be face painting, live entertainment, food, and more!
