NC Watermelon Festival
Head to historic downtown Murfreesboro for the NC Watermelon Festival from August 1–4. There will be a parade, 5k race, costume contests, and more.

Summer Outdoor Concerts

Sonoma County Fair
Get your tickets for the Sonoma County Fair in Santa Rosa from August 2–12. Enjoy live entertainment, rides, food, and more.

Strawberry Festival
The Watsonville Strawberry Festival takes place August 4–5 in historic Downtown Watsonville. There will be entertainment, food, crafts, and more.

OKLAHOMA

OKC Tennis Center
The Oklahoma City Tennis Center has 36 courts designed for both children and adults so the whole family can play! The shaded bleachers help provide some relief from the heat to spectators or players during breaks.

Family Fun Day
Visit the Britton Health Center in Oklahoma City for Family Fun Day on August 18. There will be music, food, prizes, games, and more.

ILLINOIS

Dog Days
Bring your dog to Parade Field in Cantingy Park for fun in the park. There will be performances by trained canines, vendors, on-site adoptions, food, and more.

Kite Festival
Head to the Kite Festival on August 11 and 12 at the Chicago Botanic Garden. There will be performances, kite-making workshops, food, and more.

Indiana State Fair
The Indiana State Fair is back August 3–19 in Indianapolis. There will be rides, food, entertainment, and more.

Summer Nights Film Series

MASSACHUSETTS

Run & Ride
This race allows children to bike and run around CambridgeSide. Children 5–13 years old are allowed to enter. Race takes place on August 5 at Canal Park.

Movie in the Park
Throughout the month of August check out a movie under the stars in Boston parks. There are a variety of family-friendly movies playing at different parks in the city. Check out the full list for specific movies, times, and locations.

NEW YORK

Central Park Conservancy Film Festival
Celebrate New York films and filmmakers by seeing a movie at Central Park from August 14–17. This free festival features a different film each night. Gates and pre-show programming starts at 6:30 p.m. Movie starts at dusk.

Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day
In honor of Arthur Ashe, this event features tennis and entertainment for families at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows. Radio Disney will host a free concert featuring popular musicians.

OREGON

Concerts in the Park
As a 110-year tradition, Concerts in the Park is a must-see event this August. Performances begin at 6:30 p.m. each evening. See lineup for specific bands and locations.

Flicks on the Bricks
